I also hate when a bird shits on my car, and the automatic car wash can't even clean it off, so I have to do it myself.

Remember it could always be worse. There could always be pollen on the car 5 minutes after washing it.Also,

Our oak trees are in full bloom, right now. Everything has a yellow coating on it. Have to wait until mid-April, here.Remember it could always be worse. There could always be pollen on the car 5 minutes after washing it.
Even worse are the silkworm/caterpillar shitballs that rain down from those trees. Our oak trees are in full bloom, right now. Everything has a yellow coating on it. Have to wait until mid-April, here.
Shhh...Hey, so is he!
Last week, a woman had her cart parked in front of the item I wished to grab (sliced ham, $5 package), so I had to reach for it from a distance without inspecting it head on. When I got it home, it turns out that said package was ripped at the front. This escaped my detection at the time, the cashier's detection at the register, my detection at the register and I did not notice until I got home. It seemed the contents were intact and the ham was only slightly dried so I considered letting it slide until 1 second later I considered the microbial possibilities (not to mention potential human tampering) and realized that I had to throw that ham no matter what. I was fortunate enough to be able to show the store the next day and get a replacement without receipt. It was an isolated incident in 4 years of reliable products and the error was accounted for, so I am not particularly sore about it, it falls within the margin of error by my estimation. When you grab chicken in the store and it promptly leaks vile liquids all over your hand.
I had wet wipes, but can this just not happen with priced-down meat? Bag it, you mongs.
This pisses me off so bad. People always stop right in my way when I'm looking.a woman had her cart parked in front of the item I wished to grab
Honestly, I think I can make poor grocery cart operation in general (pacing in the aisles, stopping at the same place another cart is stopped, leaving carts unattended in critical walkways to do a quick grab of an item in another aisle), doing a run for a forgotten item WHILE AT THE REGISTER, etc.) my gripe of the day. Just understand that your goal in the grocery store is to have a full inventory of what you want, don't spend more than a handful of seconds contemplating options (and move your cart out of walkways if you absolutely must), have an idea of where all your items are located and calmly and efficiently complete your task with a mindfulness of efficiency, but not to the obsessive point that you treating it like a speedrun. Come in with a plan and do all your thinking/calculations before the task. Do this while parked in the lot if you are running a busy schedule. You're doing your contemplations and calculations either way, it is better to front load them as not to make a cascade of error while shopping. Concentrate on your shopping only (do not mentally drift) until task completion. This might be a *bit* overmethodical, but the costs of over preparation are far preferable to the costs of under preparation. This pisses me off so bad. I’m going to add - write your shopping list (write a list!!) in the order things are laid out in the store. Or at least group them by section.Honestly, I think I can make poor grocery cart operation in general (pacing in the aisles, stopping at the same place another cart is stopped, leaving carts unattended in critical walkways to do a quick grab of an item in another aisle), doing a run for a forgotten item WHILE AT THE REGISTER, etc.) my gripe of the day. When it comes to produce and meat, you really do have to do a manual check before taking it to the register.
People who actually do steal shit from the store. One of the local stores turned off their single self-serve register because despite having a video camera on it that shows you on it, people kept stealing stupid shit. Not even expensive shit according to the cashier but just bullshit like candy bars and impulse buy shit.(And, no, trying to steal shit from the store isn't one of them. What would I steal, anyway, since they always seem to be out of items that I actually want to buy?)
Because of COVID there are a LOT less all night places near me and the ones that exist are overutilized and understaffed and have been for YEARS. My friend and I are generally serial loiterers but we don't displace guest seating space or require any assistance once our food/coffee has been delivered and we typically tip high. After COVID restrictions abated and people remembered these places existed, the customer base was once painfully small. It has grown significantly since then and they have not staffed it in accordance. While waiting to pay (no check was received at the table in many hours and we were waiting at the register for 10 minutes) a group of vibrant youths dined and dashed. Normally this would incense me, but the owners/managers of the establishment were SOOOO lax in their staffing (I am being held hostage for 15 minutes just WAITING TO PAY) that I legitimately considered this the equivalent of jumping in the tiger's den and blaming the tiger. The business more or less consented to the dine and dash, as niggerly as that behavior is, because a 80 year old woman in a walker can dine and dash that place because of corporate corner cutting. Effectively, it is the same as abandoning a kiosk with a sign that says "please do not steal."People who actually do steal shit from the store. So now it takes at least twice as long to check out.
It pisses me off they never prosecute for that minor bullshit because anyone that fucking dumb and niggerish deserves to pay some massive fine for stealing something less than a buck. And that store is in as lily white a place as it gets so it isn't THAT demographic.
That's the job of your local weights and measures agent. They come in with their little box of weights and make sure the scales are accurate and put their sticker on it. You'll see it on gas pumps too. The store has no access to it, at least on NCR machines in my experience, which are the majority.**Thread tax**: Is it that hard for a store to calibrate the self-scan scale
