Yeah, some of the most powerful people in the US were casually discussing how to invade a country in a internet app groupchat, and the guy who """""accidentally""""" joined it just so happens to be a high-ranking journoscum.

I'm calling fake & gay until proven otherwise.
You have to keep in mind this whole administration is incredibly incompetent.

You can literally see the fear of electoral un-electability in her eyes. She knows deporting a couple hundred thousand illegals would turn her solid blue state into a purple state.

It is different because its always been billed as a retirement program for everyone. One as far as I know you can't opt out of without simply not working (which isn't an option). I think you have a point on how it should function as any regular welfare program, but the issue is you first have to make it one. Not some greyzone program it is now. I simply don't think payments you receive should be taxed. Especially in our current day where you'll never get back the money you pay in. I hope that if Trump is able to reduce the tax burden most Americans face, your means testing won't be a third rail anymore, and we can go from there.
You actually can opt out of it, but you have to pay an even bigger percentage of your earnings into a privately funded retirement account. I don't think it's a coincidence that government workers have a special 403k retirement account pool that they can use to opt out of Social Security.

There's a lot of other details and exceptions that I won't get into, but suffice it to say, opting out of Social Security will cost you a BUTTLOAD of money. That's why you don't hear much about it, it's actually cheaper just to pay the SS tax. Plus if your alternate retirement account doesn't do well (see 2008), you can't change your mind and get Social Security once you've opted out of it, even if you're broke. There's absolutely no FREE way to opt out, so some search results will tell you there isn't a way. But there is.

You should be skeptical and wary of anything that "big-<anything>" tries to push.

Pharma, food, drink, lifestyle, it's all promoted so big corporations make profit, the very same big corporations that rape and ruin the environment, why would they be truthful about the effects of things on peopeople

I am once again going to remind people vaccine manufacturers have liability shields.

Plenty of independent studies who have followed kids long ass time have found interesting things so much so that the authors were smeared and study retracted same as that Indian finding covid was a lab made virus and 4 years later they admitted it .
Just saying

Where else would they be discussing it? Reality is dissapointing.

And he didn't join, they added him. Now the better question is which one of them is a snake and has Jeffrey Goldberg on speed dial

Yeah it sucks that they fucked up enough to get a journalist on it.

Through it doesn't seem like Vance and Hegseth come off that bad in the text. Basically saying everything pretty much most Americans agree with. Europe needs to stop dragging it ass, this crap is raising shipping cost, and the US has to get something in return for fixing this crap.
Try reading the article from the point of view of Israeli interests.

The pro-Israel journalist Jeffrey Goldberg was somehow accidentally invited into the group chat by Michael Waltz. Waltz served under Bush and Cheney as a defense policy director. Waltz is in favor of military intervention in the Middle East.

Goldberg chooses to report on the conversation between JD Vance and Pete Hegseth (and not other conversations in the chat).

JD Vance questions if there might be good reasons to delay this Middle Eastern intervention in Yemen citing domestic concerns like oil prices, and European diplomatic concerns (which are different than Middle Eastern concerns).

Pete Hegseth recommends staying with the "Bidens fault" and "Iran funded" talking points. Hegseth says delaying could be bad if somebody leaked the plans or Israel acts before the US does. Then he gives a rah-rah America pep talk.

The article was posted here by our very own Israeli correspondent Catch the Rainbow.

Seems like this Michael guy should be fired with prejudice then.

Pho from a locally owned vietnamese diner is infinitely more healthy than whatever slop they wanna serve you.

Eat pho
Alternatively Tom Kha Gai. Really easy to make and can be made quickly while Pho takes Pho-ever. I use this paste, it's cheap and lasts forever. Also pretty healthy as long as you don't over salt it. Mushrooms for vitamins, chicken for protein, lots of herbs, the only kinda expensive thing for it is coconut milk.

conservative grifters say that the only people on welfare are black people intentionally leeching off of it
Conservative grifters are the ones currently saying that we shouldn't remove soda and other unnecessary garbage from being SNAP eligible because "we can't tell people what to spend their money on" like snap is the money of the recipient to begin with and we can't try to limit the options of SNAP eligiblity to actual necessities instead of diabetes cakes and heart attack juice because it's torturing people on SNAP by doing so.
>just remember everybody, warhawking and needless interventionism is evil except when Trump does it
As has been gone over multiple times mostly because this is old news and as much as I want the US to fully pull back into a sort of fortress island form the Houthis are pirates that are attacking shipping lanes and disrupting global trade, so this isn't needless interventionism.

Your piddling tax dollars are chump change compared to what Coca-Cola, Pepsi, Nabisco, General Mills, and Tyson will pay directly to congresspeople and right-wing "influencer" shills. I said from the beginning, it's pure hopium to think that you can micromanage the foods that EBT recipients are allowed to buy, because the lobbyists will outbid you every time.

The best way to cut EBT spending is to root out fraud, particularly among vendors. It takes two to commit EBT fraud, the one with the card and the one who redeems it. There's no big-money lobby protecting bodegas and mini-marts. The big-box retailers would probably be willing to pay some nice lobbying bux to put them all out of business.
