Magic The Gathering

You know, I've always been meaning to ask this, but in the alternative time after fate reforged, wasn't the only reason why Zurgo was left alive by Sarkhan was because he had become nothing but a bell ringer( I thought) for the Jeskai? What's he doing as a Khan again for Mardu?
He wasn't Jeskai he simply went to Ojutai for help during the Phyrexian invasion and they skipped over the rebellion and all we got so far from what I read is the rebellion leaders against Kolaghan became the leaders of new Mardu.
Damn if only the more interesting story didn't happen off screen.

Great..... so now you've raised a new question: Why would Elspeth do that other than 'because the plot requires it'?
Well she didn't know, she and Narset went to the Meditation Plane through an Omenpath (Thank Elesh Norn for that btw) and ran into the Double Dragons...Ugin was telling everyone "GO THE FUCK AWAY YOU RETARDS" and Elspeth's first reaction was "OH SHIT ITS NICOL BOLAS!"

Edit : Also Jace ends up in Space because he tried to steal Ugin's Gem of Becoming and use it to rewrite the universe and broke the meditation realm.

So Jace went hyper retard in this plot and ended up at the...EDGE OF ETERNIIIIIIITTYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So it all happened because Elspeth was one of the few walkers around that wasn't in War of the Spark and this had no idea what happened there?

Not really because Elspeth shouldn't have known Nicol Should be dead if nobody informed her because she had as far as I can tell never encountered Nicol Bolas ever before.

I'd call this marvel tier writing but Marvel usually did better.

Brother's War to Apocalypse was solid with the exception of Mercadian Masques. The Time Spiral books weren't bad either, but anything with Jace and friends forward seems like utter slop.
I like Chandra's debut novel (which gave us Gideon) and like I said, Test of Metal is fun with Jace as the bad guy.

Time Spiral was a mixed bag but respectable for the effort. The Nicole bolas duel in it was Kino.

That fight was great, it's what made me want to go back and read about Leshrac. One thing I really remember about the book and liked was Jhoira, as they did a good job of actually writing her like woman instead of a girl boss, like in the first scene where she meets the Kelds and is struggling to hold the dagger due to its size and weight but has to fake it in order to save face. Small stuff like that makes a story feel much more flushed out.

The only time I was ever invested into the story was between Weatherlight and the Invasion cycle. Following the crew of the Weatherlight as they fought the Phyrexians at the time made me really want that to be made into a TV series. I hate how planeswalkers are a dime a dozen now, ruins the immersion when all of existence is threatened all the time.

So what's the cliffs note of the 'story' that happens in the set?
Narset, Zurgo and 3 literally whos used a ritual to Summon the Wedge Spirit Dragons and shoved the Dragonlords into the dragon storm. (This happened off screen)
The Ritual made the Dragonstorm's worse.
A super powered dragon used an Omenpath to get to Kaladesh..which made Elspeth curious.

Elspeth goes to Tarkir, visits Narset..the two to off to try and deal with the fact that the Dragonstorms are worsening
Ajani is on Tarkir livin inna woods..occasionally the Abzan try to get him to join up.

Sarkhan Vol is having a big S A D that he can't shapeshift to his dragon form, a monk named Taigam gives him the ritual that involves eating a Dragon's heart to let him regain his shape shifting powers.

Narset and Elspeth go to the Cruicible/Haven/Maelstrom of the Spirit Dragon (where Ugin was Hedron'd) and find an Omen Path. They go in..enter the Meditation Realm..where Jace, Vraska and Loot have been heading apparently.

Ugin is still Holding Down Bolas..he looks really weakened.
Elspeth does the Soyjack point and says "OH SHIT NICOL BOLAS"
Jace tries to steal Ugin's Bike Gem of Becoming because he seems to think that he can use it to rewrite reality because the Meditation Realm is some super duper special plane
Nicol Bolas wakes up, The Meditation Realm begins to collapse..
Jace falls into the void
Elspeth, Narset, Vraska and Loot GTFO back to Tarkir
Sarkhan in his fursuit shows up with an army of Dragons
Fight happens, Ajani shows up to help, Ugin pops out of the Omen Path...One shots Sarkhan

"AFTER 10,000 3 years Nicol Bolas Has escaped, Find me 5 Teenagers Female Planeswalkers with Atitude!" - Ugin

Jace wakes up in a MYYYYYSTERRRRRIOUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS place...That is totally not the EEEEEEEEEDGEEE OF EEETERNIIIITTYYYYYYYY!

So the entire Jace plot..was something he could have just done because he has been to the Meditation Realm before and could have PLANESWALKED THERE AT ANY FUCKING TIME.

They fucked up and got the old timeline mixed up with the new one as Oret has no reason to be banished in the current timeline.
wrong timeline.jpeg

Oret is a niggerfaggot in all timelines apparently
He's the only reason Anafenza got to be a tree spirit and was considered a hero in the new timeline. The only weird thing he did was kill her to save her soul and hid the location of the spirit tree, but he was never punished for this in the original stories.
I was bored and 4chan, main MTG reddit, and the lore reddit were all annoyed in some capacity.

Edit: Also have this funny edit from 4chan.
