I don't believe that was the original intent. I don't think the same political agendas were on the table in 2007. It was a fictional story telling inversion designed to sell a game, because the focus back then was selling games and innovating. A lot has changed since then, it is a different world.

The way I see it, the new world is just a more extreme version of the old. The liberals who were once hand-wringing about western civilization being evil are now the ones whining about how white men are privileged. In the same vein, the people who used to worship at the altar of small government are now Trump fanatics who will accept big government so long as it comes from him and Elon. Yesteryear's moderate left is tomorrow's SJW.

The way I see Assassin's Creed, they went way too far into making the Templars look evil while the Muslims look better. There's a difference between that, and Medieval 2 Total War where you can decide to side with Christians or Muslims on your own leisure. You can sign on with the Crusaders in the Holy Land or the Baltic States and purge the heretics and pagans in the name of Jesus Christ, or you can side with the Muslims, Byzantines, and pagans to keep the Pope's posse out of your backyard.

It doesn't surprise me in the least that Assassin's Creed as a series went woke. It was already headed that way from the start; it's just that the modern woke AC is just the final form where they stopped pretending.

Truth is this game is another Ubisoft chore simulator, where they fill the map with the mundane, and cut corners on everything else. Throw on top micro transactions and expensive skins you have a low effort cash grab that tries to shield the greed of Ubisoft by trying to be "morally correct" with the DEI and blatant homo. Low effort, no innovation with things designed to be politically reactive to deflect away from the fact they're charging top dollar for a completely unremarkable Mcproduct we're all fucking sick of consuming. That is the problem with the game, and that is my problem with modern politics. They're barely even trying to hide it anymore.

It's basically a shittier Skyrim, except they slapped on the kind of romance options that would make Mass Effect's romance options look Shakespearean by comparison. The most they did was make a difference between Yasuke and the female ninja, but it just goes to show that Yasuke was a last-minute addition since many mechanics don't work for him. He's just a big slab of meat whose job is to bash through enemy defenses like a hammer; whereas the female ninja actually does assassinate targets for a living, and she works with the traditional parkour and stealth mechanics of the series.

They should've just stuck with her and made Yasuke her mission control; since in reality, Yasuke was one of Oda Nobunaga's servants, Yasuke could've been Oda's messenger to the female ninja. For example, Nobunaga wants some other warlord dead. You could be just adventuring around Japan as the female ninja assassinating some random target, then Yasuke shows up in your crib, and he has a sealed letter from Nobunaga telling you who your target is, and where they live.

Modern Politics has become about dickriding your choice of Billionaire. At the moment, Left Wing is all for the tech trannies and game developers like Microsoft, Blackrock and Sony, the right seems to be all for Musk, Thiel and their inner circle. Both sides (Left and Right) are busy fighting each other over quite frankly stupid shit and not coming to the conclusion the one's fucking us are the ones funding everything. In the meantime our wages are stagnant, costs are increasing on everything, those same Billionaires cut funding for shit (that is for you) paid for by your tax dollars so they can pay those dollars to themselves. They use the money they take (from you) to pass laws that prevent you from criticizing them, buy both sides of politics so they get what they want no matter what, and pay people like Hasan Piker or Razorfist to tell you why and where you should be angry. Keep everyone fighting over Korean digital tits and over splits in a never ending purity spiral on both sides. And again, when you dig deep enough on both sides, it is just bedrock dickriding the billionaires with a pretense of political leaning.

It's kind of funny how people like Razorfist were blind to this for so long. Many of the SJWs came from colleges that rich people donated to, and they funded the kind of feminism and SJW ideology that was meant to divide instead of unite, the kind of ideology that would piss people off. Then on the other side, you've got guys like Trump, Elon, and other right-wing nuts who are all about letting rich people run the country and privatizing social services. Right before that, the Tea Party and Occupy Wall Street both targeted the rich as the source of America's ills, but after that, the Right and the Left started obsessing over trivial shit that doesn't matter in the long run for the average American.

But if you ask Razorfist, he doesn't realize where the SJWs came from. He's willing to blame the Chinese, even though the Chinese have been sounding the alarm and warning the world about how America was spreading pro-effeminate/gay messages all across Southeast Asia; something that Musk's DOGE wound up proving. Razorfist doesn't want to let the blame land on the French or the Americans, despite the fact that the former is super-woke and the latter funds woke culture through Blackrock and Vanguard. Throw a black man in a Japanese videogame and everyone will fight for months over that and not question the $20 a month they just snuck on the powerbill. Encourage some college sports narcissist (who coasted on a scholarship) to take the knee during the national anthem for a cause that won't matter in 3 months time, people will argue over that instead of noticing the increasing potholes because they cut the maintenance budget to give the already rich money in the form of a subsidy or tax break, all the while you're still paying your 28 cents to the dollar on the $40,000 you work your arse off to make. They use their platforms to boost people who encourage division, and if they get big enough, pay them, because they're doing a great job at distracting all of us from the fact that each year they're giving less and taking more, and less effort and care goes into what we get out of it at the end of the day.

And that's the reason why Razorfist doesn't want to shed light on the fact that both sides of the Culture War are puppetted by the rich. It's the fucking SW Prequels/Clone Wars shit again where the same people control both sides and use the artificial war between both sides as a way to gain more power for themselves. Razor doesn't want the truth to come out; he wants to profit off the Culture War by being paid to shill for the Right, hence the Melanie Mac simping and the Puritanical sperging during Goonergate. He wants to become a whore for the right so that he can be paid to say the same slop he already says. So no shit, why would Razor want to bring an end to a conflict he seeks to fan the flames for so he can get his ass paid?

All I can say is remember those who took silver (from both sides of the culture war) when the time comes to follow Christ's example when it comes to merchants and money lenders and you pick up the stick.

But in the case of videogames, as in selling a videogame to be a potential franchise, Assassin's Creed from the start was an alternative history science fiction that started off having an idea of where it was going to go, and veering off the rails after Black Flag. The intention was to sell the game in the videogame market of 2007, not to make people question Jesus. It wasn't a good story, or a bad one, it was serviceable enough to make a game out of.

In this specific instance regarding Assassin's Creed, the original game was not an attack on Christianity and Western values, it was a roll of the dice at something (social stealth, parkour and assassinations) that might pan out. Ubisoft was a big company but they hadn't hit it big with the key franchises (AC, Far Cry, Tom Clancy stuff) that carried it into the bloat they became.

The most insidious thing about subversion is, if you are subjected to it long enough, you start seeing things that are not there. That is part of the design, a way of making you actually crazy and prone to overreacting. Having you guessing meanings behind the shapes of clouds, jumping at shadows, decoding apparent pedophilia cult messages you think you see on Pizza Hut boxes and other shit which pre-emptively de-legitimises criticisms of the subversive, because thinking and believing that shit unquestioningly is obviously crazy, dumb and retarded. The afterlife thing has been confirmed to be precursor computer simulations, and the existence of characters like Odin was hamfisted through the idea of sages, genetic clones that had human limitations and lifespan, but would allow those clones to inherit memories and carry on that precursor's work. It's a mess.

But I am not going to defend Assassin's Creed lore, it has gotten progressively retarded where they retcon, do over and rewrite the rules. That twist in the first game was just that, it got expanded upon in the Ezio trilogy. As I said the wheels really fell off after Black Flag.

The problem with a lot of current media (fiction, TV, games etc.) is that they hire "professionally trained writers", which is code for the bare minimums that writing professors allow through because 1. most people who want writing done want drones not artists so that is what writing degrees produce and 2. Academics are people who failed to actually do the job successfully so fell back on teaching, meaning the stick by which people are taught and measured is warped to begin with.

Case in point Razorfist flunked out of Journalism, he's been a middling at best Youtuber for most of his adult life, never really able to be successful compared to his opinion of what his success should be. He's thin skinned, immature, unable to see things from another person's perspective and has a narrow autistic world view. His books and his comics completely and utterly suck ass but the simple truth is Daniel Harris is still a better writer and narrator than the majority of people hired in any capacity in modern media today.

The industries don't want creatives, they want agreeable slop churning drones, they do what they're told and you don't have to pay them that much as they're too stupid to understand worth. It's why Game of Thrones ended up the way it did, it is why Star Wars currently sucks, it is why the lore of AC has gone cunt up and contradicts itself. Lowest possible investment for highest possible return (in theory). This is the reason unironically why Daniel Harris can put out Deviant Art Quality Thief fanfiction, and still be a better writer and story teller than most people in the big companies being paid to write and tell stories.

They want a safe "product" they can sell to the lowest common denominator and get away with it as much as possible. Someone like 1977 George Lucas, who tried to combine conflicting genres like WW2 films, cowboy films, & sci-fi with fantasy, and who wrote a scene where a main character blows the head off a mafia tax collector without warning, would've been kicked out the front door and told never to come back. Ironically enough, the people who made these franchises big would've been expelled in the modern corporate climate, where they don't like people who rock the boat.

That is the issue. It is the way you see it. The way you are choosing to see it.

Because, let me emphasize this point, Assassin's Creed is fiction, specifically Science Fiction. There were no deep philosophical or religious debates played out in the game. It was all angsting by the main protagonist as he discusses things with his mentor (and game bad guy). At no stage did Christianity, or Islam, come under direct criticism in the writing of the game.

I do question how many of you were around on the internet, or in media, in 2007. Because this was peak online Atheism, peak Dawkins. The people criticizing religion weren't subtle, they were smug, and they were everywhere. In terms of style and selling the message Razorfist is cut from exactly the same cloth as the anti-religious from that time. These pricks were everywhere, tipping their fedora into every discussion. The existence of God was to the internet then what the culture wars are now, everywhere and frustratingly unavoidable. It wasn't until a particular gem from r/atheism, laid bare what this was all about and made the online atheists and anti-Christians easy targets for mocking:

Choosing to see criticism in something vague and small, in something done nearly 20 years ago, where the online and real world were different places, using today's standards and happenings to justify why you "choose to see it" is bullshit. And to put it really into perspective the original Assassin's Creed is closer in time to the release of Street Fighter 2 and the last episode of 1980s TV Series Miami Vice than it is to us today.

The thing is, the agenda and the subversion have been there as early as the Cold War. It's what Yuri Bezmenov called "active measures". Them using SJW ideology and radical feminism is just the latest thing. Back in the day it was sex-positive feminism and Communism, during the early 2000s it was skepticism and atheism, and now, it's SJW ideology, since they failed in getting rid of religion in culture and public life, but they realized that a lot of gullible millennials can be conned into supporting SJW causes.

Just look at feminism. Back in the early days of First-Wave Feminism, it was just getting women the vote and the right to work, but many women were still socially conservative as opposed to the men; some were even more religious and puritanical than the men (LOL Prohibition was passed with their help) hence why the religious leaders which still had a lot of influence in the early 1900s supported feminism.

Then during the Cold War, Second-Wave Feminism morphed into this anti-religious, sex-positive, "free woman" shit where they had things like slutwalks and they tried to use eroticism and free sex as a way to lure men out of the family life, which they saw as a prison. The feminists were also awfully close to the Commies of their day, and it wasn't weird to see a feminist also be a Marxist, a Stalinist, or a Maoist. They obviously tried to attack the family values of the West as a way to weaken them. There's a reason why the Left back then had little to say about cartoon women who were more than a bit.......thicc, nor did they say much about sexy women in video games during the late 90s and early 2000s outside of some fringe groups getting uneasy.

But that failed, since men were willing to entertain eroticism, but still wanted to settle down, have a family, and be the big man of the house. So feminism switched tactics once more; Third-Wave Feminism suddenly became this puritanical, easily-triggered ideology that is against anything that works for the male gaze or the male fantasy, trying to reach for the moral high ground and denouncing men as sexists. That's when you see a lot of the people who got suckered in by the Second Wave of Feminism suddenly turn violently against the Third Wave, especially since the eroticism that the Second Wave Feminists thought was empowering, Third Wave Feminists saw it as appealing to disgusting male tastes and the male gaze.

In the same vein, the Left relied much upon the skeptics and atheists of the early 2000s because they were at war with the Religious Right. I was not only aware of this, but I was a part of it, since this was around the time of my higher education, and I was really into participating in this online discourse as a member of the Faith. So in a sense, I was on the side of the online Religious Right, constantly debating these leftist atheists and skeptics, most of whom were Leftists back in the day.

But once I cracked open their silly little logical arguments against God and theism, especially since most of their ideas boil down to the universe appearing out of nowhere with no real cause or purpose, I got to the real meat of the matter as to why they were a bunch of godless dweebs. Most of it boils down to "boo-hoo, my religious parents beat me because I didn't like to go to Church." "Waa, my parents grounded me because they saw me play a DnD game that their pastor told them was Satanic!" "My parents told me I was going to hell because Jesus was mad that I took an extra cookiee before bedtime!" It was basically leftist gen-Xers and millennials angry that their religious parents were dicks to them. At the end of the day, they were quite pathetic. And the Left saw limited utility from them, so the Left eventually abandoned them, the same way they'd abandon the Second-Wave Feminists for the Trannies.

While the Left saw successes in the political sphere, with Obama getting elected to two terms and him using the USA's global empire to push leftist causes across the globe, they failed to stamp out the Religious Right, since the attacks from the leftist skeptics and atheists only emboldened them, and the influx of Latino, Asian, and Muslim migrants made anti-religion a weak platform to support, given that these immigrants were very religious. The Left needed to abandon the skeptics or lose these massive numbers of immigrants to the Religious Right.

So eventually, the Left changed tactics, going all-in on the Social Justice and DEI strategy, abandoning their crusade against the religious part of the Right. That way, they can preach to millennials who are easily swayed by SJW arguments WITHOUT pissing off the religious people. Notice that their condemnations stopped being about how irrational religion is as a whole or how Separation of Church and State works; whenever they condemn right-wing Christians, all they do is point at how the Religious Right sucks at following the Bible. That, and they started boosting left-wing religious voices like Father James Martin and Pope Francis.

While in the old days, the Left would emphasize the Separation of Church and State as a near-religious principle, nowadays they want a state that follows the charitable part of the Gospel more closely, to the point where they want to ignore things like criminal history or substance abuse. Back in the day, the Left's goal seemed to be removing religion from public life; nowadays, if Pope Francis somehow takes over the USA and turns it into a liberal Catholic theocracy ruled by the principles of Liberation Theology, the Left would greatly prefer that over a secular state that tells the poor to get fucked.

You see, that which you see as the "agenda" has a lot of things in common with Razorfist here. Back in the day, he was a skeptic, a foul-mouthed godless heathen who loved metal music and who hung around with fellow heathens like The Amazing Atheist and Mangaminx. But now? He's realized that his libertarian audience is more Christian than ever, so he joined in and jumped on the Trump Evangelical bandwagon. The same guy who used to make foul jokes about religious people being pedophiles is now whining about sexy women in video games being "spiritually caustic". The same guy who used to hang around a godless woman like Mangaminx is now whining that having a female pastor at a Lutheran Church is not kosher for good Christian boys. Even though at this point, the only churches that give a shit about that are the Catholic and Orthodox Churches, since they're the only ones that draw the line in the sand and say "NO" to female clergy. Especially when the Lutherans themselves already have female bishops back home in Europe, so female Lutheran pastors are nothing new.

That's part of the reason why I detest Razorfist being a member of the Religious Right. I used to be a member of that side, back when they still had some shred of decency, back before they made Donald Trump their new Messiah, and the way Razorfist is acting as a member of the Religious Right, he's bringing out all the worst aspects of it, while saying nothing about the actual noxious godlessness that places like France emit.

Well, the president whom he worships is now deporting or arresting people for protesting against Israel on the guise of anti-terrorism.
