You're missing the point, if you make raw materials (unprocessed crude oil) cost more (tariffs), the final product (gasoline) is going to cost more wherever it's sold (America). Tariffs on Canadian oil will increase the price at the pump. The signs are correct.

No, I know how Tariffs work. I also know that 94% of Alberta's crude goes to America for processing because Alberta has no other choice. We, America, literally have the strong hand in this relationship because Canada Has No Other Choice. We could tell Canada we're not paying more, we can shift production, we can shift who we buy from because people want to sell to America. We are The Import economy. Stopping the flow of Alberta crude would hurt America briefly, it would annihilate the Canadian economy. If a few cents more a gallon puts the arrogant, stuck up, delusional Leafs in their fucking place, then that's a price I'm willing to pay.
