About the Signal chat leak, is the journo behind in in jail facing execution, or it's yet another case of journos betraying national security for clicks and suffering no penalty?
Seems like everything went fine for the US; if you mean the Mossad guy who got killed, no, I don't think the former IDF US citizen journo is in Israeli prison for compromising Israeli national security. Anyway, you can't be mad at a journo when you leak shit to them. They publish info, it's what they do.

You fucking serious? The only joke here is your self control. Fix your shit.
Naaa there's a lot of fucked up shit in our food. I took a vacation to Europe for a few weeks, ate over there exactly like I do here and I dropped 10 lbs.
All that shit RFK is railing against, especially the toxic petroleum based food colorings we use, really fuck our systems up.
I'm well aware of the more gonzo stuff they eat, but surely there's a middle ground.

We had a Chinese exchange student when I was a kid and she would make pretty good stuff I'd never seen before for us from time to time. The first time we brought her to a "Chinese restaurant" she was in hysterics about the food lol. "We don't eat this!".

Also, we sent her back home like 20lbs heavier lol.
One time I was doing some writing / producing for a prospective Jpop singer. Sony Japan sent her to my house in America to live with me for like 3 months while we worked on the songs. While she was here, she went nuts. She was especially enamored with how ethnic food here is cooked by the actual nationality and how they all have their own neighborhoods. For example, in Japan, if you want greek food, the chef is most likely a Japanese guy who went to Greece to learn how to cook and then returned home whereas, if you want Greek food in NYC, you just hit Astoria, which is about as close to Greece as you can get outside of the country itself and the food is cooked by an actual Greek. Similar for other ethnicities - Jackson Heights for South American, Flushing for Asian, Ozone Park/Howard Beach for Italian, etc.

Anyway, by the time I sent her back to Japan, she had gained about 15 lbs and Sony dropped her immediately. I always felt bad about that.
Hey, I'm sorry to be the bearer of bad news. Using a new account since my main one for KF I'd prefer to keep WELL away from his work but. Well, On Sunday my dad @Gehenna passed away. He had been having heart issues for a while and he took a bad turn over the weekend. he had, rather playfully, mentioned the "Nutters and secret geniuses" in the thread and had fondly mentioned a few of you guys by username. So I thought to tell you all who held a special place in his jaded heart.

Very sad news. Gehenna was good for this board because even though his predictions weren't always spot on, he was one of the more calmer posters. He had a good talent for tempering everyone's expectations by showing why things aren't as good as they appear, yet he had a great ability to pull doomers back from the edge by showing how everything isn't as bad as it appears. He will be missed around here as he brought a sense of calm and evenness to all the craziness. His autism no longer grows with every step. My deepest condolences. May Lord Jesus be near to those who are broken hearted and comfort those crushed in spirit during this difficult time.

I'm always going to remember @Gehenna for how much he loved lasagna and for how much he hated Mondays.. (:_(
That's why he died on a Sunday, I guess.

I disagree, I think every athelete, actor, musician, and politician should get minimum wage and the jobs like scrubbing bathrooms should make big money. It's funny to shit on the janitors until there are no janitors anymore because they deserve more money from their work and the bathrooms are regular biohazards that no one wants to clean. Your precious shift managers sure as hell won't do it most of the time (the ones that do are great though).

I think most of the backwards thinking in America would fix itself if we actually paid people what they deserve instead of what we do today which is the opposite. Dirty jobs that are essential for society to function deserve the money that the childish jobs like acting and playing sports get. You want to play sports for a living? You shouldn't have ever left high school then.
some dumb fuck pushign a mop or scrubbing a toilet shouldn't be paid a lot... Thats just retard logic. I can literally train a monkey to do those jobs. Necessary != complicated job

The line subhumans are parroting over the Nikolai guy is "HE WUZ PERSECUTED FOR SUPPORTIN TRUMP!!!!"

Something he gave 0 indication of until it was convenient for his case, cute. Indefensible corruption, on both sides of American politics. Burn the shithole down. Btw, his attorney is AG Bondi's brother lol

Keep in mind, the faggot lied about a fake truck for years to grift billions from investors of all sizes

Nikolia guy needed to rot. Its not like Dems don't sell pardons for favors, but I did think Trump would be above that.

If you can purchase a pardon after making billions off of scamming, you have effectively legalized scamming

The robber barons of the 19th century will look like benevolent capitalists from an Ayn Rand novel compared to what's coming

It'd be different if they actually did anything about actual spam. The way the Jeets and Chinks running the spambot networks currently get around the automated system is to make accounts, do ABSOLUTELY NOTHING you can report, but put a porn site in their bio and hit like / follow on an infinite number of accounts/tweets to try and draw your attention to their account (and the bio). But since they never tweet, not once, you can't report them outside of reporting their main profile, which does nothing, because they haven't posted any spam. There's no report option for "blatant porn spam malware aids site in bio." We've had technology that could detect this since the WWIV BBS and IRC era, but that's too much for the Web 4.0 AI Techbros to figure out, apparently.
>not taking the SAAR PLEASE HELP I AM INDIAN gambit
I'm sure you have your reasons, but if I were you I'd deploy the nuclear option

They absolutely could crack down on spam, it’s just that they don’t give a damn.

Digitize into what format and how do you guarantee those digital files will be readable 100 years from now? I was around when gov't had the bright idea to preserve records forever on CD-R's that had degraded to an unreadable state 10 years later. Paper still has it's place and salt mines are proven as the perfect place to store them long-term. They didn't just decide one day to hide shit in mines for no reason like in Raiders of the Lost Ark.
I sure fucking hope that 1) no federal retirees live 100 years after retirement and 2) computer systems that are of any importance get upgraded more than once in 100 years

Celebrated the death of an American citizen
The guy is based. Some fucking Turk was trying to get away with terror lite and got called on her shit. Oh no! A muslim Turk living in Gaza should never have been an American citizen in the first place. Give this guy a fucking medal for all I care.

I think the screenshot is enough
if the source is gone a simple screenshot doesn't suffice. a screenshot doesn't even need a source.

that's why you want a screenshot with an archive link in it for ease of distribution and reproducibility/integrity

What's telling is that nobody remembers it anymore. People bringing it up ITT just reminded me of it, but before that, I hadn't thought of the game in several years. It has no lasting fanbase, not even anyone still bringing it up as some profound thing. It is probably the peak of the Soy Era, because all the soybeard guys were all over it.
late reply but it it's a singleplayer game from 2013, everything that has been said and meme'd about being a divisive sequel is long over.

There's an excellent book called "The Day after WWIII," which was published in 1984, and meticulously detailed the (publicly available) civil defense plans of the United States, and how even seemingly obsolete and cumbersome civil defense plans could be vital for COG and winning a nuclear war. These deep storage sites are part of those old school plans to help rebuild America after a national disaster. I have similar issues with the plan to integrate Starlink while divesting ourselves of things like landlines
I can see the argument for preserving some hard copies of things, but I'm pretty sure if WWIII occurs, the most vital thing we need to rebuild is not ensuring the pension continuity of retired Federal workers, which is what that cave in PA stores...

Why not? After the war, the retired feds will still be retired feds that worked for their pension. It's no different from any other records. The point of deep storage is to have a hard backup of everything, so that we aren't just totally listless. They have similar hard copies of social security information, military service records, and plenty of other things. Sure it's not stuff that's immediately important, but that's why it's stored at the bottom of a defunct mine.

The idea behind the deep storage program was that, after a nuclear war, the federal database could be essentially reset to right before the bombs dropped using these records, that way there's a clear continuity from the pre war government to the post war government. The records are more important than just the information they hold, they are symbols of normalcy and order. It's so the President can come out after we drag ourself back to our feet and say "yes we're the same guys, we will honor the pensions of retired feds, disabled veterans, and social security recipients."

The sad thing about infinite is it had so much potential to be a great game. Look up early footage of the game and the story. 2k really fucked this one up.

Ken Levine fucked it up by being so over budget, past deadline, and disorganized.

2K eventually had to step in, bring a guy in who specializes in finishing games, and wrangle the team into actually finishing the game.

It does have one long-lasting legacy

I thought SFM was the software of choice for those videogame porn animations?

The journalist who leaks the chat was smart in waiting until after the strikes concluded so that he didn't interfere with an ongoing military operation. Had he leaked them before the strikes the administration would have grounds to go after him but because he didn't and the the administration wants to call the information not classified (which they can because the OP is concluded) means the journo essentially didn't do anything wrong, he was privy to information he shouldn't have been but released it in a non harmful way and the current administration would look like shit for going after him. The real problem is the staffer who added him to the chat in the first place. He should be at minimum fired for potentially putting national security at risk but I haven't heard any punishment falling on him yet. The staffer's info is already in this thread but I can post it if you want.

Pay rate is difficult to gauge but I don't subscribe to the mindset of easy=low pay jobs. I won't PL to hard but I'm a fabricator, I do a lot of shit that I find easy but let's focus on just one aspect for the argument, welding. Anyone can weld, seriously I mean anyone, it's easy. Doing it well however is a different story. I won't bore you with technical stuff but there's a big difference between Jonny two thumbs laying a bead and a dude who knows and cares about what he's doing. I've been to amusement parks that have nice and clean bathrooms that in contrast have absolutely shit structural welds holding rollercoasters together that I don't trust. People should be paid for the quality of their work, the importance of that work matters too but that's really subjective and the topic of a different discussion. Sorry if that's a lot of rambling to say, if a guy wants to clean floors and toilets for a living and do it to the same level of quality that I put into my work then I think he should get a good wage. He's risking his health just like I am and just like a person who sits in a desk all day with no physics activity, just in a different way.

Bol fell off so hard, but it's true that Elizabeth (and Overwatch) were the impetus for SFM/Blender goon material.

Back in the day there was this network called a "contact chain" or "accountability chain," which was basically a failsafe for organizing members of government agencies and private companies working with the government. It was stupid simple, you were given a person to contact. It was your job to, in the event of a national emergency, to contact your designated person and relay pertinent information to them.

the entire reason the social and political factors arose to allow trump to run and win twice was that the deep state created at some point during the late cold war completely sold all of that shit up the river. by the time bill clinton was president this shit was not true at all. this Eisenhauer era idealism was how everybody pretended the world worked when i was a kid but... none of this shit has existed as long as i've been alive. george bush used the us military to just blatantly kickback israeli defense spending to their own pockets and it was so blatantly corrupt that the people decided BILL CLINTON was a better option. and then his son did the exact same thing again and nobody batted an eye.
