The SJW punks existed pre-2012. No one who wasn't an SJW punk took them seriously. Antifa as we know it today is also not new. Antifa in its current form dates back to the 70's-80's skinhead subculture. It was a response to the neo nazi skinheads.

It's illegal for even actual citizens to give "material support" to terrorist organizations, although "material support" is somewhat alarmingly ill-defined. However, you don't even need to do that as a lawful permanent resident. Your green card can be revoked for much less than would justify criminal prosecution of an actual citizen.
