I constantly see people discuss what repercussions should be for illegal immigration, but there's a question that's been bothering me... who the fuck keeps hiring them? Nobody seems to discuss whether or not those hiring should be punished, even though such hiring practices are closely tied to employment difficulties for native job searchers, as migrant workers are not only willing to work for much lower wages, they are also willing to work without any health or security insurance. It pits the most struggling Americans to compete against migrant laborers within the job market they have no chance of winning against, unless they reduce their expectations for wages and insurance.

This is not a rare phenomenon either, when you consider that countries like Honduras have 1/4th of their GDP made up of remittances. Let me repeat that. Honduras has 1/4th of its entire economy based around its population working abroad and sending some of the money they earned back home. There are entire countries whose economy may be built upon their people emigrating, so of course, they're not gonna do shit about it.

For as long as these hiring practices aren't addressed, migration is gonna remain a problem. And I can't see the Trump administration doing anything to actually resolve the problem either, besides bringing upon symbolic victories that feed into peoples sadism, considering one of the noteworthy individuals perpetuating such scummy hiring practices... is Elon Musk himself.

Also it avoids the main issue. The main issue with cost of living in America isn't the price of consumer goods that is something America has or ate lest had better then almost any other country. The main cost of living issue is housing prices. The average American spends half their income on rent or their mortgage if you could bring that down it would help so much more and less money goes to these sort of bare necessity purchases and more goes to well consumer goods. The issue with that is one his corporate buddies don't want it but even besides that the boomers don't want it. They depend on the cost of housing staying high so they can take out HELOCS forever
