Counterpoint: for those 2000+ years pornography was mostly created to awkshoolly be erotic. Today there is very little eroticism in porn. American performers are almost uniformly ugly, whether they're young skanks with unattractive faces and bodies or previous generation stars (who were very good looking back then) in their late 40s and 50s now who should have retired long ago. There's a few left who got started in the early-mid 2010s who still look good, but they're aging out (of looking good, not out of the industry like they should be) as well now. Europeans less so but it is also getting there. Japan last I checked was holding out on awkshoolly wanting pretty girls in their productions but idk if I'm right or wrong there these days. I don't know the purpose of bestiality cave paintings but most ancient art and myth depicting it in my opinion did not exist for the purpose of jerk-off material. There are ancient papyrus scrolls from Egypt and Greece that are pretty plainly prurient, poems about stuff like statues of Aphrodite coming to life and fucking some lucky dude, not centaur gang rape fantasies. I'm not an anti-porn crusader, but I think there's a bit of a difference between how humanity's made and interacted with in the past VS the present. It's all about dosage and concentration - it's like how people chewed coca leaves as a pick-me-up for thousands of years with few ill effects, but when the active ingredients are extracted, refined and concentrated the resulting substance is debilitatingly addictive.

It's a lot harder for porn to have any observable effect on society when it's relatively uncommon, as it was in the past. But most people today, including kids/teens, have an unlimited amount of anything they can possibly think of in their pockets. There's pretty clear evidence that it's influencing the way people develop ideas about sex and dating, and it's not for the better.
