Very dumb when it comes to USA legalese. Can anybody explain how OFCOM can influence the US to threaten KF in any way?

If josh refuses they can't really do anything to him since he's outside their jurisdiction and he has no stake in the UK. There's no way the US would agree to extradite josh over a first amendment issue so all they could really do is fuck with josh or the Kiwifarms associates. They could put an arrest warrant out for josh if he ever stepped foot in British territory, get a British court to seize any assets josh has in the UK, or use a court order to go to threaten business associates of kf into complying. From what I remember when KF was hosted in Las Vegas Path network sent a fake canadian court order and made the data center unplug the actual hardware and they complied because a company like that has a businesses interest in Canada and could face consequences they wouldn't be able to turtle up and ignore.

It's not a lawsuit. It's a threat to apply administrative penalties to people who don't comply with the demand, which is in some ways worse than a lolsuit.

To be clear, Ofcom is threatening to do what Germany's Netzdg did with other American services and use the DoJ's Mutual Legal Assistance Treaties (MLATs) to try and put me in prison. Biden's DoJ actually facilitated this, and we have an opportuntiy to pass a law similar to the SPEECH Act for shit like this. The attorney has a presence in DC and has gotten call backs from the Justice Committee's staffers. The bong block is for their own good.
