I remember Rekieta talking about how, in many cases, when a YouTuber or other internet personality gets sued they will often lose more money by not making videos about their case than they would lose in court by talking about their case. Now, he was talking about Alex Jones, and his advice wouldn't've worked for Jones because he was being sued for more money than currently exists on Earth, however in Jobst's case Rekieta's advice probably works out.
By my count, in the past 2 years or so Jobst has made 16 videos about Billy Mitchell. Most of them got over 1 million views, and the ones that didn't got at least 600k. Personally, I think most attempts to scry into what YouTubers make from their videos is often fruitless and vain speculation, but ~16 million views over the course of two years has got to be worth something in ad revenue. Add in sponsorships and whatever other sources of revenue he was able to rally over that time period and you've probably got quite a nice chunk of change.
Now, he's probably not happy at being made to pay almost a quarter million USD, but he probably saw this as a possibility and prepared accordingly. I think he talked in one of his videos about hardening his finances so that even if he was completely ruined by the lawsuit, his family would be able to get by more or less unscathed. He'll probably get by without much issue, and he may have even broken even thanks to his videos on the case.
