Specifically with that one it was a machine equipped with an eight way joystick. This doesn't sound like a big deal, but in Donkey Kong having an eight way stick is a major advantage over using a four way stick. There's a technique of steering the barrels where you push the joystick left or right to influence where barrels will drop down ladders. With an eight way stick you can do this while moving up and down ladders while with a four way stick you have to stop.

Also with that performance the convention organizer, who Billy had called in, said he only played for like twenty minutes when deposed, which is nowhere near enough time to actually get the score.

I believe his scores on this machine he claimed to have performed live in front of an audience, but he did it in a backroom at a convention and then his score was announced to an audience, but these aren't the emulated scores in question, just an example of him demonstrably lying about his history with the game

I don't normally speak ill of the dead, but Apollo was a cunt. As far as I remember he never brings up Mitchell in his suicide note. Instead he stated in his suicide note that he was killing himself due to his medical issues and then made sure to include in his note that he was also killing himself because of two other youtubers who RIGHTFULLY made videos pointing out that he had told several lies in his videos about games done quick and other autism fests. That's a cunt move, I don't care what anyone says. He tried to take a shot at both guys who for the record were not at all cruel or mean in their videos about him, they simply exposed that he was knowingly lying in these videos.

I'm not going to say that being ordered to take down videos and owing money to Billy Mitchell couldn't have had ANYTHING to do with his suicide, but it's more of a separate issue. If Apollo got into a bad car crash and was deemed at fault for it, that also hypothetically could contribute to a suicide. I wouldn't blame the guy he t-boned for it though. Karl was a smug prick about this entire fucking thing, so it brings a smile to my face even if I am a Billy Mitchell hater.

Edit: Not surprising at all to me that he won this case, and honestly I think he may have even had decent odds of winning it in the USA too.
