I do find the court fee's a very interesting point. Since it's standardized in Australia is there some reasonable maximum limit of coverage it's set to? Based on the nature and length of the case or whatever? With how crazy Australia seems to be, it may very well be "yeah he spent 50 million on the case for whatever reason so you gotta pay it all Karl"

They both live in Florida so he could just invite him to Mar-o-Lago. I don't even think it would be too far off the mark to suggest they may have crossed paths. They're both pretty well off business men.

Well yeah his entire claim is "I played donkey kong the best anyone has played donkey kong on an original nintendo arcade cabinet," if you can prove he didn't play it on an original nintendo arcade cabinet that's a silver bullet. Why hasn't he changed the claim to "I played donkey kong the best anyone has played donkey kong, period." ? It'd shut the trannies up just like that.

I guess if you wanna simp for Billy or just say that high scores/speed running in general are retarded then fine. I wouldn't necessarily disagree since to get a million points on Donkey Kong you have to play the game for like two hours straight.

But emulators and original hardware are different categories in speed running and high score competitions because emulators are different from the original hardware. Mame can't even replicate Donkey Kong's sound effects correctly to this day since most of them are generated via hardware on the original PCB's. Emulators have different proof standards specifically because there are things someone could do to manipulate their game or just use save states to craft a game. For someone to play on an emulator and say it's original hardware is cheating and went against the rules that Twin Galaxies had set up even at that time.

What would be the point? It'd likely just the outcome of of this case, but instead we'd all be even more turbo-screwed.

It's more the fact it's infinitely easier to cheat on an emulator than an actual cabinet, and therefore the standard of documentation and proof required for an emulator record is significantly higher than on a cabinet. It also means that anyone submitting emulator gameplay under the guise of it being cabinet gameplay can pretty much be assumed from the get go of trying to let something slide that doesn't pass the sniff test.
