I kept seeing multiple usages of it with different contexts and I could never find a concrete definition. Considering it's usually related to GFE/BFE ("Girl/Boy-Friend Experience"), a 'Unicorn' is either the object of parasocial devotion or the devotee...? Is that essentially correct? What are the nuances, if any?

Unicorn typically refers to the viewers who are unreasonably aggressive about whether or not a vTuber interacts with a male on stream. Typically having histrionic reactions to it happening. Recently it could be seen with Shiori Novella playing Monster Hunter with some of the Holostars. It's largely their behavior that spawned the "MALE ON STREAM" joke you typically hear people say.

Mythological unicorns would only allow themselves to be touched by virgins. Parasocial unicorns are focused on the supposed 'purity' of the objects of their affection, and become enraged at the concept that the streamer might have any sort of contact with a male, let alone be in a relationship with one. The rest of the fanbase, who are mostly just there for entertainment, tends to view them as toxic schizos. They can be major whales, which is why some streamers cater to them, but they frequently end up creating major drama by making demands and acting like they own the streamer.

I appreciate the suggestions and I'll start looking into those people. I'd like people that are funny and engaging, good at comedy and at telling jokes specifically. Another thing that I'm looking for is people that are easier to jump into, that don't have too much lore to understand what's really going on without feeling like there's just an avalanche of history I need to know. Livestreams or clips doesn't matter too much to me, just comes down to people who are funny and attention grabbing. Background noise is fine but if it's someone who I'm going to be wanting to hear what they have to say, paying attention to what's going on, that would be great.
