This is probably just bait, but I'll take it.
It doesn't hurt anyone, and I'm not saying give HRT to two year olds or anything, but what about freedom? As long as it's not state funded or mandated then what's the problem? I hate trannies as much as the next guy, but I've been thinking that all this hate they get is just a little overkill (I don't mean the 41% memes or anything, they're funny even if they're a little hurtful, I'm talking about real transphobia).
The problem is that it is state funded, and the more it is tolerated the more it encroaches and establishes itself as a "normal" practice in society, with both big pharma and transhumanist technocrats pushing the goalpoasts further and further. Children are being prescribed HRT
right now, so any further normalization is only going to hurt them more.
Now, do I believe any adult has the right to do whatever he or she wants as long as they're not causing harm to someone else? Absolutely. I just think it's immoral for anyone to facilitate this, but I think if a deluded mentally ill person wants to do X or Y, he or she is free to do so. In the same vein, someone who feels like their "real self" doesn't have an arm or a leg is free to chop it off, but if you facilitate and enable that, I think you're either a total moron or a total psychopath.
You can help people in other ways without infringing on their freedoms.
Yeah, the transgender community needs to be cleaned up and police itself better, no doubt, and I think they're gross and they'll never be women, but if they're comfortable in their skin then it's worth rethinking. I'll probably be called a cuckservative troon lover for just trying to be a decent person here, hopefully not though.
No, it doesn't need to be "cleaned up". What does that even mean? It shouldn't exist, period. We should facilitate treatment that heals the root of the issue. If someone believes they are something they're clearly not, they're free to do so, and they shouldn't be forced in any way, but the way to help them would be to provide them with therapy not "cleaning up" their image.
Evidence shows that they're never comfortable in their skin, and there are detransitioners that prove this with crystal clarity. There's this 50 something year old guy who detransitioned not long ago, for example. After spending decades of his life identifying as a "trans woman".
Years spent in denial, years of destruction to his body. He might have needed to go through the experience in order to realize how wrong it was, but at the same time, it doesn't absolve all the people that facilitated his delusion of responsibility. The doctors, friends and family that went along with the charade are all to be blamed for his misfortune.
How am I hurting them by letting them live their best lives? What difference does it make to you if a man grows boobs? How does this effect you?
1. It's not letting them live "their best lives", since hormones are harmful and often lethal in the long run. You're not supposed to take them. They're toxic for the body.
2. I wouldn't stop them because I can't, and I think people should be free to do as they wish. I just will never agree with it and I will definitely never facilitate or coddle this behavior.
Yeah they shouldn't be allowed in women's restrooms or whatever, legal distinctions between the sexes should still exist, but just socially it's frankly none of our business.
"It's frankly none of our business". It is our business. If you had thousands and thousands of people chopping off their limbs, would you say "it's none of my business"? The fact that someone's free to do something doesn't mean that what they're doing is perfectly fine, or that it shouldn't be viewed as a symptom of something going very, very bad in society.
That doesn't mean that I'm going to go out of my way to lecture "trans" people, but it is indeed a big concern of mine that this is happening. It's very troubling and people who say "well, it's none of your business if someone is slowly killing themselves because of deranged cultish beliefs" are very suspicious to me.
Get back to me when you're calling people who tolerate circumcision "maniacs". And times change, it's 2025 dude.
Male genital mutilation of babies is maniacal. There's no excuse for that either. Two wrongs don't make a right, this is just a whatabouttism.
That's a valid concern for sure, but it's like saying we can't allow people to drink beer because they may become homeless drunkards leeching off taxpayers. If we're consistent with the taxpayer drain logic then we'd extend it beyond transgender identifying people, but it's usually just a transphobic rhetorical cudgel.
I agree with this. People should be free to do whatever they want, and I hate that statism facilitates this mentality of thinking others should be nannied by the state in order to make everything as efficient and "safe" as possible. Fuck that.
