The reason Anya is under-developed is because the story is told from the POV of Curly and Jimmy, two people who don't care about her at all and one of which doesn't even see her as human.
Exactly. That's why I called it "male-centric". It's a common problem in a lot of these stories, where women end up with the smallest supporting role, even when they're established as an equal part of the team. So strange that the male supporting characters are always treated with far more decency, while the female counterpart's best luck is to be raped/killed for shock value or be a non-developed Mary Sue.
I'm not here to wag my finger at you about feminism and how there must be a quota on two women talking about anything but a man, but you could write Anya a lot better, even from the point of view of someone who hated her (for some unspecified reason). Maybe not have her suddenly kill herself in a fit of female hysteria just so you can have the super-cool Curly and Jimmy private time you have in your head? Shelly Duvall's heroine was far better characterised, even from the point of view of her abusive alcoholic husband. Anya and Jimmy are a pale shadow of those characters, except that the author decided to shift the spotlight from the female lead to another guy (also a very odd thing to do, something like that happened in the Hannibal TV series).
Why not tell the story through three of them if Anya's character is (supposedly) as important to the story as Curly's? The author just didn't want to (because he's a faggot obsessed with men), and this decision didn't do the overall plot any good, imo.
Anya is more of a puppy that Jimmy kicks, and the story, despite being from his POV, doesn't even explain his reasoning. He's "da evil narc rapist" just because, Anya is "da rape victim" that's the main tweeest, wow such commentary, we can make 100 video analysis videos on this. Maybe the author should have spent some time working on this part instead of the tired boring walking around simulator to imitate the troon retro aestectics or faggy conversations between Curly and Jimmy.
If I were to rewrite the story, I'd break it up into parts for each character's POV to piece together the story. Maybe in the style of ship logs or something. Also less obsessive focus on Jimmy's jealousy of Curly.

I get what you are trying to say here, but imo these bit characters and their deaths are also only used for major shock factor to show how crazyyy the mc is and nothing else. Looking back at what the author himself is like, I find it hard to separate him, his gross fantasies about women and the supposed psychopath character whose pov he was writting from.

The heavy emphasis on his jealousy, the establishment of "old friends", the whole twisted care scene, and how even in the end what Jimmy hallucinates (and therefore sees as important) is Curly and his forgiveness of him. The only character he still hates is the only woman (and the mother of his unborn child) who is portrayed as an animal in his eyes. The reason why the MC did this to her in the first place is never fully established, other than the hand-waving about her being the only woman on the team, I guess, but through the narrative, the way the writer empathises in certain scenes, people can fill in the blanks. Jimmy wanted everything Curly had (in his twisted mind) and that included Anya, who was very respectful to him. Then the consequences of his actions bit him in the ass. That's it, that's the whole game.
When such a relationship between two men is the main plot point, especially when it involves some sort of rivalry that drives their actions (ergo they are doing it "for each other" in a twisted way), the romantic interpretation is a duh result. There is a pattern to how the popular gay shipping works, and people like you:

If you've been in fandom spaces long enough, you start to notice patterns and predict the homo/tranny shit before it even starts.
