Nintendo Switch 2 - For the Soytendo consoomers to speculate about the successor to the Switch, recently announced for 2025.

This is a company with hilariously outdated multiplayer infrastructure making a multiplayer only game. On the console with such bad multiplayer infrastructure that it was controversial when they started charging for it. What could possible go wrong? :story:

I think the graphical upgrade will actually be quite big. Loads of games on the switch look horrifically blurry and low res, with poor framerates too. It's a complete scam having to pay for an "upgrade", but I think playing BOTW on the switch 2 will be a massive upgrade on the original switch version.

Even high budget exclusives from early in the console's cycle like Fire Emblem Three Houses look really poor graphically.
Everything still looks blurry dipshit, no more shilling.

That's it for me buying Nintendo consoles unless they unfuck everything (which they won't because they're stubborn). At least with bad consoles like the Wii U, it had free online and genuinely good games, at least near the end of the Wii U's run.

The direct itself was a 9/10, but man, they really buried the lede on some of this shit, fucking hell. I'm still in a bit of copium mode that some of these game prices are canadian dollars, not US dollars, because it's kind of unfathomable to me that the single company that was still holding out on $50 games less than a decade ago is suddenly jumping this far ahead in prices compared to the rest of the industry. If that is the case, they need to clear this shit up ASAP.

The main thing I wanted out of this direct was mouse control aiming in metroid prime 4, and I got that, but if these prices for games are accurate in the US, it might be a good long while before I get one, if at all.

1st Party Nintendo games also never go on sale so if you want Mario or Zelda you will always be paying full price.
I wanted a Switch 2 because I never had a Switch, but now I'm definitely not ever buying a Nintendo console again I guess.
Choose the pirate's life, cuck Nintendo out of a few more shekels and watch them cry about at their shinto shrines.

I knew something was up when they didn't show the price along with the release date. Granted, it didn't turn out to be awful (unless you live in Canada), but I really dislike when companies aren't direct with what they want from consumers.

I'm genuinely floored. Japanese companies make DUMB decisions when they get arrogant, but this is just really taking the cake. It's one thing to catch up with some of the shitty decisions of the rest of the industry, but another entirely to be the one setting the precedent, which, for every bad thing you can say about Nintendo, was almost never that they were doing just that.

The price increases of the games and digital only push really puts the discontinuation of Nintendo Gold Reward Points into perspective. They're absolutely squeezing as much milk out of their nigger cattle as they can. I played the hell out of my Nintendo Switch and would have liked a Switch 2 but absolutely not at  those prices. This entire console generation is AIDS. I guess I'll continue to visit old things I missed and stick to PC.
