She didn't, and statistically speaking her mother, with all of her own baggage is an anomaly. She's enduring financial hardship to ensure the physical survival of her least capable child, but beyond rides to doctors and paying the bills, mom isnt doing much else and Tiffany's decline is painfully obvious. We can speculate till the cows come home about what is compelling mommy to support her child in what is easily the worst way possible. Mom is footing the bills but I would still say look where thats gotten her. Look at her living conditions.This girl cannot survive without adult supervision despite her desperate wails that she is indeed an adult. If this current taking herself off her meds is a true disclosure, this is going to end very poorly. Nothing short of wrangling and heavy medication in an assisted living facility will mitigate the crater this child is determined to make.

I think she ran away from her mom at some point and lived exclusively with her dad for some time, most likely shortly before or after the CPS report. I could be mistaken though.

Though if sexual abuse was indeed on the table, I can easily understand fleeing, but it raises the question why did she so willingly go back to mommy who let these awful things happen? I know that the answer is on some level she knows she can't survive on her own and is actively manipulating things to avoid a homeless saga. Mom being a stable, but distant, source of financial support is a sign that mom did end up getting help and righting her ship or is herself being propped up.

But for argument sake, I will point out that by running away she proved that she knows she can take matters into own hands in some capacity.
