Also, is the cheating accusation really THAT big of a deal in the first place? Outside unearned bragging rights, did Billy's cheating result in him earning any material/monetary prizes?
For Billy they are, which is why he has be litigating the accusations against him for years.
If he is ever found to have cheated by a court it would harm the image as this crack Arcade legend he has built up over decades
For me its irrelevant who got what highscore at an arcade game, I never went to an Arcade, I will never go to an Arcade and I do not give a shit who has what highscore in what autistic any% category on a website only frequented by autistic faggots who play the same game for 45 years.
This entire feud is only interesting because it has gone on for so long and a clear antagonist and litigious asshole has been identified and propped up by a multitude of YouTube channels over the years, and because Billy kept going after people for those statements. The DRAMA is what makes it interesting, not the actual disputed content.
In other news:
Ersatz_Cat is also still
coping over there on PerfectPacman (
Archive) that people are retarded for not understanding what the lawsuit was about and defending that Karl never really explained it to anyone because "talking about an ongoing lawsuit is stupid". (Then why did Karl produce more potentially defamatory content about Billy and behaved in ways the judge found to further aggravate the reputational harm, but was not able to explain in clear text to his viewers what his lawsuit was actually about? Weird omission.)
I admit that I should have understood what the lawsuit was REALLY about, after all I read all his summaries and followed the case loosely via Youtube videos.
But I read those summaries late at night and more skimmed it than read-read them. I was more interested in the summarizing opinion of how it was going, since we had been told so many times in Youtube videos that winning against Billy would be easy because he is a cheater.
So excuse me for not understanding that the
entire case hinged on the accusation that Billy drove Apollo Legend to suicide by demanding a large monetary settlement, which weirdly enough is the one fucking thing Karl did not defend himself for.
Ersatz_Cat also brings up the point again that Karl's lawyer bungled the case. According to his previous summary I understand this as the lawyer not making the correct pleading, excluding a defense Karl could have otherwise used, which was now excluded. I apologize again for remaining sceptic of this claim in particular now without an Australian law expert looking into this case in particular and explaining how and why this is correct, with citations of the law to support it.
The judge summarily destroyed Karl on every single point, highlighting that he REINSTATED the defamatory statements AFTER being told they were untrue.
How do you defend against making the same false statements twice without any proof after being told by 3 different parties that they were false? Sorry, I am not buying this cope.
When some guy makes a living making Youtube videos, a large share of which are about legal drama, and he manages to correctly report on other legal proceedings, but suddenly fails to be transparent about his own legal case, for which is is conveniently running a GoFundMe for, then the question if Karl might have intentionally mislead by omission is absolutely justified.
