I keep getting told I should try to make some money off commissions, and the main problem is I'm just not focused enough to bother getting good enough, but man I feel like you almost have to vet your clients to ensure you're not giving them spank bank material so maybe I'm not missing out.

Kind of off topic but from what I read from artists make any sort of money, you need to be okay with being a whore. You might enjoy drawing cool pictures of whatever but the guys with money all want porn. So if you are not comfortable with strangers masturbating to your art, just stick to drawing for fun.
