Pussy.

I did Atlantic Ocean to Texas in 16 hours, with 4 stops at places like that.

Edit: Austin sucks BTW.
That's just like half way, but it is doable, especially if you consider speed limits as more like guidelines or suggestions. My family took a summer back in the days before NAFTA ruined things and went from Lon Guyland to Arizona and back, stopped with family and friends along the way, lots of camping. That MythoAmerica twitter account hits me right in the feels and I hate seeing what my country has become, because I remember what she was. I don't care if Trump's tariffs crash the global economy with no survivors, it won't ever go back to the way things were, but getting back to something like that is worth the risk.

Boston to San Francisco is almost 50 hours

Yeah, that would be tough, probably 48 hours straight driving. I would have to start after a full 8 hours sleep.

I rigorously comply will all traffic regulations, since the repeal of the national 55mph limit, most highway travel is between 70-85 mph(112 kph- 135kph).

So, in other words, India wants to redeem.
The funny thing is the Chinese and the Indians are a lot a like, the Chinese are more intelligent and more competent, but their cultural arrogance leads them to do dumb shit. Remember, the Chinese refer to themselves as the "Middle Kingdom," or more accurately "The Central (Most Important) Kingdom in all the world." Narcissism is baked in and it's why they still seethe over the Century of Humiliation, because it shows they weren't number one. If you want a funny, the Japanese term for the Chinese Shinajin, literally Chinaman, drives them up the wall because it doesn't refer to their status as central kingdomers and how dare the Japanese not bend the knee. Imperial Japan was directionally correct about China.

Boomers are the way they are because the victors of WWII wanted them that way. Consumerism went into overdrive along with mass media. Edward Bernays wrote Crystallizing Public Opinion in 1923, and Propaganda in 1928. But, propaganda didn't end after WWII. It just rebranded as Public Relations (1945). Edward Bernays last book was The Engineering of Consent in 1955.

Media companies were able to shape the views of people on a mass scale. Hollywood and TV programming were very effective. Winning WWII was very lucrative for them.

I like to recommended Adam Curtis' documentary.

anyone who actually lived through that time or knows more about it, feel free to correct me or add context. just trying to understand the bigger picture here
Everything you said is wrong. You come from the premise that more government = more good. This is an incorrect and absurd reductive take. This makes sense if you got your info from commies like Howard Zin.

This is why they believe everything on TV and constantly have to have TVs going. It's sad, my parents, both 1940s actual baby boom boomers, raised us to not spend much time in front of the TV and now they can't live without it and are shocked us kids don't watch stuff. They're the first mass media generation and it's a lot like Zoomies being the first real smart phone generation.

Fuck man at least the zoomies actually use the brainrot to transfer information in a two-way communication (well, sometimes). Just passively and slavishly consuming media without interacting with it at all seems particularly corrosive.

I am so very tired of it.

My mom is freaking out about her investments and my local convenience store has raised the price of a bag of chips to about $7. Between the stock rally after trump was inaugurated and the most recent dip, I've lost about 35% of the value of my investments.
This is gonna be rough, boys, but this is what I voted for and this is what change looks like. This is the ride Mr. Bones informed us about.

It's pretty crazy. I remember as a kid, they always told us: no watching TV and using the PC at the same time or radio, for that matter. Essentially, one media at a time.

Fast forwards 25 years later, my boomer dad is watching AI slop about Ukraine on the boomer box while listening to a political youtuber on his phone.

Even if the UK comes to a deal with the US, we all know Games Workshop will raise prices by 20%
I started getting into Warhammer and been lurking relevant subreddits and Grimdank is bad. There's almost always something IRL political, Coomer, or worse pro-Tau as their top posts. They're very anti-gatekeeper to a fault; they disdain older fans who aren't as down with the inclusivity retcons. They'll unironically say they want to get rid of the older fans "from OUR community".

Horus Galaxy is the counter-balance subreddit and where people who aren't down with the inclusivity retcons go when they get banned from the other Warhammer subreddits. The posts are usually better, but you'll see some bitching about Grimdank. Grimdank's also been pretty open about trying to get Horus Galaxy banned by Reddit admins so I get it, but on Reddit even mentioning another sub in a rant can be interpreted as that sub "brigading" which goes against Reddit's ToS.
