https://www.cheknews.ca/pit-bull-attack-near-nanaimo-injures-two-children-and-one-woman-450395/

Two 8-month-old pit bulls that were loose in Nanaimo attacked several children, severely injuring at least one. Other people that came to aid the children were also injured.

The children were playing in a yard at the house of one of their friends. The dogs were from somewhere else in the neighborhood and had been cited for being at large previously.

One of the owners of the dogs came and got the dogs but did not stick around. The news interviewed the other owner, a Dangerhair that looked to be in her late 40s or early 50s. While she was devastated at what her dogs had done, she said to the reporter, "People are saying, look at this from the prospective of a parent, well, these dogs are my kids, too," and then she broke down crying.

It was later reported both dogs were euthanized, as there have been other incidents prior to this one, and due to the severity of the injuries the one particular child sustained.

To the dangerhair dog owner I would have to say, "If these dogs were your KIDS, you did a lousy job of raising them. Thank heavens you didn't spawn any of your own."

Synopsis: cop shows up to a house after a report that a dude had to jump on the homeowner's car to avoid being mauled by their pit bull, to which the homeowners got angry and apparently threatened to kick his ass or even shoot him. Homeowners claim "that dog won't leave the fenced in enclosure even if the gate's wide open!", they open the gate and the dog immediately comes running out, "that dog won't bite anyone!", dog immediately begins biting the cop and predictably the dog gets offed and everyone in the house decides that they need to come out and threaten to kill the cop. These people are the typical fucking trash you'd expect. Kinda wish homeboy actually went after the cop instead of running his fucking mouth.

I'm not really seeing this one. The dog was reported as a 'Great Dane' and it doesn't look much like a pibble to me. You can't see it bite the cop, and even if it does, it's only a second or so before you see it running away, and the cop shoots it while it's trying to run off around the house. Not exactly lock-jaw eat-em-alive pibble behavior. Cop then spends the rest of the video taunting the son and inviting the mother to stop holding him back, apparently because he is itching to ventilate him, too.

All I see is a trigger-happy cop looking for an excuse to punish some white trash. Probably happens three times a day.

Shitbulls mauled my dog last year and my mother yesterday. Took a chunk out of her leg while biking. Didn’t have its shots because of course. Lucky to be alive. Luckier to be on crutches and that it wasn’t as bad as it looked. God I hate shitbulls.

Fuck, man. Did your dog survive? And Is your Mom alright? Neighborhood dogs or what?

To me, it looks just like your average shitbull, not a Great Dane. Where do you see it reported as such? I agree the cops behavior was retarded, though. I wonder if FOIA would show whether he had bite marks or not.

Yeah, he's fine. He was at a kennel when it happened, tore up his ear and some of his face. Lady there had never seen what an ear bleed looks like so she thought it was arterial spray. He was always hard of hearing and ugly though.
Mom's alright, very surreal watching an old woman in her 60s laugh this kind of stuff off. Was some out of towner who didn't realize the fence wasn't actually a fence.

It's in the video, near the end. It could be a pibble mix but it's definitely not full shitbull. It has actual legs and isn't built like a barrel, for one thing. I think it got overexcited and nipped the cop, who then used the excuse to fire at it FIVE TIMES as it ran away. Cop does the same thing later in the video; he has the son arrested for 'throwing a soda can' at him (no it didn't land), and when the other cops are kind of like, is that all? he says "it's enough". Same principle, just looking for reasons.

That's definitely a pitbull, in my opinion, but mixed with other shit. Absolutely not a Great Dane. The police were called because someone was on a car, cornered by this dog who feared an attack. The dog walked up to the cop and apparently bit him. While I think his behavior was poor when challenging the son after, the idea that you need a better "excuse" to shoot a dog than when it attacks you is silly.

It's an aggressive pitbull. Fighting dogs shouldn't be allowed in society in general, much less ones that get "overexcited" and attack people who are simply standing there. In a parallel universe, the dog doesn't get shot, but mauls some neighborhood kid the next week. Now you have that hick woman crying about how the dog had never done anything aggressive before.

I pulled the comments from that video and filtered for some choice keywords:

Big_Z14: "Great Dane mix" lol okay, that's a pit.

heidilou5450
Great Dane mix my butt. Maybe that pitbull has some Great Dane in her belly. Or they are tired of the worn out Lab mix title.

----

AfterTheAfterlife
Great dane mix? Come on now. You know exactly what awful aggressive dog its mixed with. A Pitbull.

----

TimothyStuker: Great Dane mix lol! 5% Great Dane 95% Pitbull

----

pepesilvia217
Great dane mix bit him 2x before shooting so I see why he was cleared of wrong doing. Sorry to that family who has to go get a new dog.

----

Vallemar1997: That was no great Dane

----

kennyshoes

That wasnt any Great Dane, thats for sure. Tough take, they already had a call about the dogs menacing someone. Why take the chance? The owners had no control and the fact she even offered to let it out not knowing how to recall is irresponsible.

----

girlonfire6067

They have a beware of dog sign on the fence. The kid probably opened the gate hoping the dog would run out so he could go in and steal whatever he wanted to steal. Homeowners did everything right and the officer was in the wrong for antagonizing. I got the impression he was looking for an excuse to shoot the dog. He sure didn’t hesitate. The dog was already running away after he nipped the officer’s leg. He was clearly not a threat to the officers life at the time. Great Danes are some of the sweetest dogs and this one was still a pup, so she was probably play biting. Officer was out of line in so many ways.

----

Delightful_Addition

The one I feel bad for is the Great Dane mix. She didn't know who the officer was or what was going on. Her owner also set her up for failure by offering to let her out after a stressful situation not long before this.

----

_Kittensworth: I doubt that dog is a great dane mix. It looks more like a pit mix, if not 100% pitbull.

----

harrintino: Great dane mix, lol

Oh, if it was a puppy oh that’s even worse because the puppy probably wanted to play 14:04

sandraisgro5111: The dog wanted to play! Nothing more!

danielraiber3639

I am a big big supporter of police. They are out there doing a hard job and get very very little thanks for the work that they do. But this time, the police officer was in the wrong. That dog was a young, juvenile puppy (dogs are considered to be puppies until they are 2 years old) and the stance she was in was a playful stance. She was trying to play with him. He may have been bitten, but he was bitten by the dog on their property where the dog was supposed to be doing what she was supposed to be doing and he never gave the owners any chance to correct the dogs behavior. From first encounter to shooting the dog is less than 5 seconds long. That is unexceptable. They would have arrested me too if he had shot my dog like that too.

----

geewizlana

soooo a GOOD cop wouldnt have agreed to be proven wrong, because a loose and aggressive pitbull endangers the public in general. He also wouldnt have instigated the situation before hearing both sides FROM THE JUMP

----

big-Papa-Smurf
If it was a black family, the dog was a Pitbull, and the officer was white. This would be completely different comment section.

jeremyallen5762: They didn't need to own a dog much less a pitbull

boo-dawg.

My dog doesn't like uniforms or black people. And he bit a cop on his leg but the cop had touched my grandson on the shoulder. I just told the cop my dog was very protective and doesn't like uniforms or black people because he is never around them. I warned him that he wss protective of us and especially my 15yo grandson. The first thing I said wss, don't you dare shoot him! He should have already left anyway because I told him where the guy lived that he was looking for. My dog is an American pitbull and he's definitely not mean or aggressive but if he hadn't touched my grandson he wouldn't have gotten bit. He asked me if he was friendly and I said not to strangers especially in a uniform. I said and honestly he doesn't like black people period because he never sees them especially at his home. It was the cops fault. He acted like I wss lying to him about this being the wrong address . So his cocky attitude didn't help anything. He left and went on up passed my house and found who he was looking for. He should've left when I told him the guy doesn't live here. But he had to get out of the car anyway. I'm glad he wasn't a total coward and shot him. The cop in this video was just an A-hole and she was stupid for telling him the dog was friendly. She just got after someone right before and was on high akert. Its as much her fault ss the cops. That was so cruel and avoidable. The poor dog paid the price for protecting his people. I wasn't expecting that to happen. I definitely could have done without that. She probably nipped just nipped him she definitely didn't tear into the cops leg and and refuse to let go. A sad situation for the poor doggie. Humans are stupid!

I was young when i witnesses My dog held down by 2 officers and shot in the neck, he wasnt fighting, barking or growling he was laying on his back wanting belly rubs. They killed him all because he was a pitbull😥

If your dog bites people , keep it on a fucking chain or indoors. People who own pitbulls think they’re never wrong but those dogs are dangerous

----

jonboysetser: The pitbull mix drew blood. Enough said.

----

89earlgrey: Pitbull . No surprise

----

User-uk6rk

You mentioned the dog's weight of 45-50 lbs... as if that indicates the damage that they can inflict.
Have you ever heard of a pitbull? Even a Border Collie can F you up.
The dog bit the officer twice... unprovoked... the officer displayed no aggression.

Years ago my husband was arrested and it being just a couple of days before Christmas, it was cold. He got permission from the deputy to go inside to get his coat. As soon as the screen door slammed, the deputy ran for the house and reached for the door. My two American Staffordshire Pit bull Terriers hit the door. The deputy reached for his weapon and I ( yes a dumb move) showed his weapon back in his hoster. The deputy screamed he was shared of dogs. I told him that this was their house and I knew that he was concerned about the possibility of my husband running. Let me go in first. My husband stepped into view of the deputy with his coat in hand thinking nothing about it. The deputy apologized but repeated his fear of dogs and I told him that I understood but he needed to understand too that to the dogs he was an intruder. It could have been real ugly quick with the way that I shoved his gun back in, but those were MY dogs and they were really stupid goofballs, but I too know that all dogs CAN bite.

Seems like the situation was already tense when the cop arrived. The dog DID CHASE A CHILD forcing the kid to jump on THEIR FUNKY TRUCK to seek SAFETY AND THEIR ANSWER TO HIM WAS TO RUN HIM OFF WITH A 🔫. I think the officer was within his rights to defend himself. Let’s be honest it didn’t look like they were training that PIT BULL to take simple commands. Unfortunate situation but that dog was going to be a menace to that neighborhood in those people care and custody and Kids deserve to walk in their neighborhood safely.

The cop was a dick but it isn't like he was just some psycho who shot someone's poodle for barking at him. Maybe he's just had it up to the gills with these filthy monster dogs.

I get it but that dog looked nothing like a Great Dane and if it were one, would be far larger. Could it be a mix? Sure, especially given the fact that shelters [pitbull warehouses] like to identify obvious pits as anything except a pit, but it just looks like a pit mutt to me. You can see that the cop was bleeding from his hand at the end of the video, we're unlikely to see the wound left on his leg from a bodycam [assuming there was one] but either way, if a dog that size is trying to taste my blood I'm not going to stand there and let it happen. Totally different from a smaller dog that you know can't really do any serious harm unless it's rabid. If a little Maltese dog or a Yorkie runs up and chomps on my ankle I'd likely just nudge it away with the toe of my boot and tell it to fuckin' scram, with a larger dog I'm going to assume it probably wants me dead unless it's obviously rough play-biting. With pits it's hard to tell because most of the typical social cues [or aggression cues] have been bred out of them to make them better fighters and you'll often see them wagging their tail happier than a hog wallerin' in shit while they're mauling a kid, an old lady or a horse.

And they can blame the cop for telling them to let the dog out to prove it to him that the dog wouldn't leave her enclosure even with the gate open, but obviously they lied [and the dog immediately left] and the woman agreed to do so. People who can't control their dog [especially those who insist on owning a fighting breed] don't need to own them in the first place, even dogs that weren't bred for bloodsports can cause a lot of trouble when they get loose. Perennial story around my area is somebody's high prey drive dog getting loose and tearing up some farmer's livestock and getting shot as a result, then the family's on Facebook boohooing about it.

On the note of bad experiences with pits that painted your perception of them, when I was about 13-14 I was taking a walk with my grandma around the block because she was walking her little dog and she was a big fall risk so someone usually went with her just in case. Anyway some nigger's fucking pit bull got loose and came running over and started attacking her dog and knocked my grandma over, before the dog could go in for the kill I fucking punted it as hard as I possibly could in the head. It got legit knocked out for about thirty seconds, got up, shook itself off and hauled ass away. Was wearing steel toed boots so I probably fractured the fucking thing's skull. I don't feel good about it but I don't feel bad about it either. Thankfully both my grandma and her dog were mostly unharmed but yeah, I've hated these fucking things ever since and further encounters with them haven't helped my opinion of them. I'm not enough of a sociopath to take pleasure in harming anything but I'm not going to feel bad about it either.

You don't have to wait until the dog bites before you can defend yourself. The police were called bc of their out of control dog. While talking to the police they lost control of it. Ultimately shooting that dog was for the best. The owners never learn until someone is actually killed

Yeah there is proof of none of that, that was just the initial accusation that the cop was sent to investigate. The woman complained that the local youths come round constantly and steal stuff out of her backyard (this is probably why they have dogs in the first place) so when she came out of the house and found some nigger kid standing ON HER CAR ON HER PROPERTY she was mad about it ("kid" is never defined, and I suspect is more 14 than 5).

I dunno why you lot are all so bleeding heart about nigger thieves all of a sudden. The dog (which was a year old) chased a thief out of its yard, nigger kid ran away and called the cops claiming he dindu nuffin and was 'just walking by' when he was chased by a dog and then a man with a gun (the husband was like, huh? I didn't even go outside) and then a nigger cop turned up all retarded psycho and shot the over-exited puppy over a nip like a massive faggot. I know y'all hate pitbulls but this ain't a murder mutt eating a baby. When the white cops show up they are clearly very confused at why the nigger cop has zero chill and has managed to turn an unsubstantiated report of brandishing a weapon into a dead dog and an arrest.

There's a video of the pitbull attacking a cop for no reason, yet you're making excuses for it like the standard pit nutter. It's only a year old? Oh, that's right, they're harmless at that age. Standard nutter minimization, tbh. "It was just a nip!" "He's a puppy!" "He's playing!" "This pitbull is even a Great Dane!" You should work for the shelter writing their kennel bios.

The dog bit someone standing still who was doing nothing provocative. You can't believe it chased someone? Why would a thief stay on top of a car knowing the cops would be called? Why wasn't it the hicks who called the cops instead of the "thief?" They finally catch this thief, but just go back to bed? There is more evidence of the pit doing nanny shit than this alleged thief at 6AM trying to steal a table from these dumb hicks. Their dumbass mobile home son probably stole the heat pump for meth.

WHAHHH WOULDJA SHOOT MAH DAWAOOAWOGH

2-month-old dead after dog attack in Jackson County, police say

According to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department, around 12:26 p.m., a woman called 911 saying her daughter had been attacked by a dog. Brownstown Fire arrived around 12:30 p.m. and began giving CPR to the infant. At 12:31, a Jackson County lieutenant arrived. Because of the severity of the injuries, the baby was loaded into the lieutenant’s police vehicle to meet an ambulance at the sheriff’s department.

Shockingly, this article actually admits the dog is a shitbull. It is presumably still alive and will probably be given a "second chance" to be adopted by a psychopath.

Also basically every local no-kill animal shelter is now just a pitbull warehouse, even though they sometimes try to pawn them off as a "lab mix" or some bullshit. How much time and resources are going into warehousing these fucking things and how much time is wasted writing up some gay biography about "Luna [lab mix][ is a little bit reactive and does not do well with small kids, other dogs or cats" instead of just writing "yeah she ate her previous owner's cat"? At this point any other type of dog that ends up in the shelter is scooped up in about ten fucking seconds, legitimately I saw a post from a local one about a long-haired chihuahua named Fred and within ten minutes they'd already marked him off as adopted.

As much as I would love for a ban to happen I would settle for getting the taxpayer out of the pit pushing and warehousing business.
Let people pay cash from a breeder or their meth dealer or wherever it is pits come from.

Just use the pit cult's words against them:

"Since it is so important for pits to be raised right and we have no way to know how any pits we take in were raised we must regretfully euthanize all pits."

Even this will never happen because the pit pushers have taken over the shelters.

Best Friends, a pit bull PR agency, was allowed to write the dangerous dog law in my state.
Needless to say the law is no breed can be banned and every dog gets one free attack.

Animal control officers, they used to call them dog catchers, need to be dog cops.
Now they are dog social workers.
They wont show up if the neighbor has a dozen unvaxed, unlicensed dogs running wild.
They will show right up if some calls and says someone was mean to the poor widdle doggos.

Taxpayers are forced to spend millions warehousing dogs that nobody wants.
When the pits do get sold, I mean "adopted", they put whatever community they wind up in at risk.

Any dog that can't be around other animals, kids or old people should be put down.
Every neighborhood has animals, kids and old people.
At some point either while being walked or after "somehow getting out" that dog will meet up with another animal, a kid or an old person and attack.

Animal control needs to be brought back to the point that the welfare of the people in their service area is the main consideration rather than what it is now, an afterthought at best.

I guess this is my fault for actually watching the video and picking up on basic details like the reported breed of the dog or the reason the cops were called.
"Great Dane Mix". I wonder what that other mix would be. Not that it would matter what breed it is, a dog running around biting people needs to be put down.

At this point I don't care who called the cops over what, homeboy literally lost his shit over his poorly-trained dog getting blasted because it was biting unprovoked. It's obvious this family is a neurotic mess and the neighborhood likely secretly sighed a breath of relief seeing the son get carted off for a time.

Portland woman attacked by dog while walking to work may lose her leg

A Portland woman who was attacked by a dog while walking to work last week is gearing up for a third surgery as doctors try to save her leg.

Javonnie Johnson was going about her daily routine on March 27, she parked her car here at the Taco Bell on 7th and Broadway and crossed the street to her job at a FedEx Office and that is when she said she was attacked.

“All of a sudden, to my right, this dog charges after me. Then he chomps down on my leg,” Javonnie said.

Javonnie said she walked by a homeless camp and that is where the dog that attacked her came from. Javonnie said she was attacked unprovoked and the dog would not let go, and no one tried to help her.

“This whole time this dog is chomping on my leg and no one is coming to help me and I’m just so devastated. No one called 911 no one has done anything at this point,” Javonnie said.

She had to call 911 herself and while she waited for the paramedics to arrive one thing was going through her head.

“I don’t want to lose my foot and as this dog is chomping down I feel my foot going numb and numb and numb,” Javonnie said.

She was taken to Legacy Emanuel Hospital. So far, has had two major surgeries in the last week. Including removing all the damaged tissues and moving an artery from her right leg to her left to improve circulation. Plus, she will undergo another surgery on Friday.

“They are going to take tissue and muscle from the back of her leg and bring it to the front,” Javonnie’s daughter, Lashunda Johnson said.

Lashunda rushed down to Portland from Seattle when she heard her mom was attacked. After she made sure her mom was where she needed to be, Lashunda wanted to know where the dog was.

“I’m told by Multnomah County Animal Services the dog is in custody and I’m told there is a 10-day holding period for the dog to check for rabies and stuff like that,” Lashunda said. “I really hope and pray the dog gets euthanized. It’s really surreal.”

And Javonnie hopes the dog owner is held accountable.

“I am ashamed of our city and I’m ashamed of our government. I would like to see if you have a vicious dog they need to have a muzzle on it or you shouldn’t have a dog. Maybe they should ban pit bulls.” Javonnie said. “Accountability, in my opinion, still needs to be had. I don’t feel a homeless person gets a pass. To me they are bad pet owners. Dogs shouldn’t be living in cars, or on the street, why do you have pets if you are on the streets?”

Portland police said so far no arrests have been made.

As for Javonnie’s leg, she is not sure if she is going to lose it or not, but she is calling on the city to crack down on irresponsible dog owners, specifically homeless dog owners so this does not happen to anyone else.

Javonnie’s daughter created a fundraiser to help cover her medical expenses.
