If you're not retarded and want more, they have an easy service industry like any other first world country. Also high level factory jobs that would exist in the US with high wages. Everyone seems to forget the most basic widgets on a us factory floor are still made by a Chinese woman with no teeth and nimble fingers. The educated classes have a flourishing tech, finance, and aerospace industry. Their demographic crisis is going to ensure that's the status quo for some time, IMF be damned. To be fair to Shapiro, his line has consistently been that he doesn't see tariffs as a feasible long-term economic policy. He is a staunch free trade guy and sees these tariffs as a diplomatic bargaining ship. His concern was always that Trump might see tariffs as a long-term economic tool.
