I work Manufacturing too. I don't think automation will ever take over. The automation machines we do have brake every other day. Then it's a pain in the ass to get anyone to fix it, think the ice cream machines at Mc Donald's.
We’ve been steadily automating manufacturing for centuries.

The place to make headway is to keep one out of every ten general government workers and have them do QC checks on their Ai replacements

now they're doing gay little AI videos and shitty cartoons about how it won't be $125/hr lazy factory work but instead minimum wage sewing socks and shirts.

They keep saying "THERE ARE MANUFACTURING JOBS RIGHT NOW!" and "WHO'S GOING OT DO IT? YOU? YOU? ARE YOU GOING TO DO IT????"

They can't comprehend: "Yes."

"THERE ARE MORE MANUFACTURING NOW THAN IN THE 80'S JUST AUTOMATED LOLOLOLOLOLOL!"

They really really don't get it.

But people are able to see exactly what these people think of people who just want an honest fucking job they can depend on working for instead of this bullshit now.

They literally can't comprehend a willingness to trade a day's labor for a day's pay.

I think one of the best counters to this is the existence of UAW, none of those fuckers are working minimum wage.

Yeah, even if a mob of leftists, including known CCP agents in full ballistic armor, tried to knock down the fences around the White House, injuring over 180 secret service personnel, destroying a guard house, and setting fire to St. John's Church, the news would probably call Trump "Bunker Boy" for being whisked away to the safe room in the basement and then people might forget it ever happened in about a week.
also, couldn't trump declare martial law in that case?

Has anyone else been getting tariff shit spammed in any of their social media feeds? I keep getting a ton of tariff videos made by buckbroken libshits in my YouTube recommendations, and the creators are either literally who's or people I recognize and are the last people who should be sharing their political opinions. It's fucking annoying.

So many people would be down for that if it didn’t come out of their wages or tax. And you allowed them to pay towards it if they wanted it to go down quicker.
I think it’s fair but I know the worst SJWs would rather die than work a single day of honest labor.

This is only tangentially related to what your saying, but I could not help but notice the "I usually wait for Catturd to weigh in, so I know all the facts."
What the fuck is the deal with that? I really don't get why the Boomer right likes that guy so much, he doesn't really seem to have particularly original takes and seems like a pretty run of the mill MAGA Twitter account. I just find it really odd that the boomers really glommed onto that guy, he really doesn't seem like anything special.
Moving past Catturd, the general sentiment of that particular comment also bothers me. Outsourcing your thinking to somebody else really shouldn't be something people should be doing regularly, let alone being outright proud of it and announcing to the world that is what you are doing. This sort of shit is getting worse too, as of late I've seen an increase in people outsourcing their thinking to LLMs, like they can't actually think up a response without hearing grok's take on it. To be fair, the majority of "grok outsourcers" are actually pajeet engagement harvesters who are just slamming down a low quality reply to suck up some of the ad revenue, but the point still stands - why the hell are people letting influencers and LLMs do their goddamn thinking for them?
CatTurd is like a late-night host for MAGA boomers. Broad jokes about the current "thing" that pretend to be edgy. Imagine a Jay Leno joke about OJ Simpson written in a Garfield comic strip; that is CatTurd. Not as brash as that David Letterman Jack Posobiec (yes, the joke is that both are tepid).

The poster saying they will wait for CatTurd's opinion is either a real human NPC or a bot (impossible to tell the difference). They are signaling that they are trusting of "authority" and consensus. If Cat Turd says "wait 2 more weeks", then that's what he will do. Trust the plan. Trust Cat Turd.

Sorry I'm about a day behind in this thread, but after the "mostly peaceful" protests during the summer of love, they never actually had any "moral high ground" to begin with.

Even if they were to storm the white house (and do so in a way that was actually violent unlike J6) There would be a mountain of leftists crawling out of the woodwork to unironically explain why "it's ok when we do it," and a complicit media there to agree with them.
"It's the language of the unheard, Drumpf! Now stop doing what you were democratically elected to do -- like a fascist -- and start obeying the violent mob supported by corporate interests and unelected pencil pushers, or else!"

Yeah, even if a mob of leftists, including known CCP agents in full ballistic armor, tried to knock down the fences around the White House, injuring over 180 secret service personnel, destroying a guard house, and setting fire to St. John's Church, the news would probably call Trump "Bunker Boy" for being whisked away to the safe room in the basement and then people might forget it ever happened in about a week.
... Am I missing a reference here? Cause that sounds familiar. Did that happen during the summer of love? Cause if so they sure as shit memory holed that stuff real fucking quick.

Imagine if your company was able to have a department of on the floor techs; a merging of two worlds. But alas, corporate bureaucracy/law has been practiced to a scalpel sharp art. It's a shame, been thinking about moving to an area where the FAME USA apprenticeships are. I'm speculating that wherever those programs are, they will be the seed crystal as factories may be built.

This overlaps with my hatred of how they marketed "the side hustle". There's nothing wrong with doing extra work to make extra money. Sometimes you have to do extra to survive. Sometimes you have to if you want some spending money.

But if there aren't options for good jobs, the "side hustle" market can step in to help out! You can put wear and tear on your car to drive Uber, deliver with DoorDash, you can scalp electronics, you can make OnlyFans porn, hell you can do ALL of these, sometimes simultaneously! Until you realize you are giving all of your energy to the side hustle, barely clear costs, get dropped from Uber because your car had hail damage (happened to my sister), get dropped from Lyft because they sent you a fare that was outside of your "zone" so you broke the rules (HAPPENED TO MY SISTER), get dropped from DoorDash because the food showed up cold...

They replaced the American Dream with the American Side Hustle and society is actively worse for it. Bring back manufacturing so we can be proud of what we build again instead of dealing with a NEET who paid for delivery with SSDI, complains when it shows up, and disputes the charge after eating the meal anyway.

Jump now to modern days. They are falling over backwards to support censorship, want the government to control every aspect of their lives, hate women via replacing them with troons, and insist that MSNBC medical advisors ran by big pharma are 100% to be blindly trusted. War with Russia is now a good idea. Racism and mean words are ultimate vice and must be censored CCP style. They melt down over their savings taking a slight dip in the always chaotic market.

Never has there been a more hypocritical people who 180ed every ethical and moral position they once held in the most shameful manner possible.
60's: Stick it to the man!

2025: Everything in above quote.

Congratulations, you've become the man. "Don't trust anyone over 30" turned into "Tough luck everyone under 65".

The main cause of that is housing prices, they have gone up them most and are the hardest to avoid. Wages and consumer goods prices aren't really the issue America has that better then a lot of countries

The class of people who work the bottom of unskilled factory jobs in china would be homeless violent junkies under the American system. Idle hands being kept busy, fed and housed. If you're not retarded and want more, they have an easy service industry like any other first world country. Also high level factory jobs that would exist in the US with high wages. Everyone seems to forget the most basic widgets on a us factory floor are still made by a Chinese woman with no teeth and nimble fingers. The educated classes have a flourishing tech, finance, and aerospace industry. Their demographic crisis is going to ensure that's the status quo for some time, IMF be damned. It's not going to end in the brown shit hole we've found ourselves in.

America put its indigent class to work in the 30's building dams and bridges, it could be done again. Kick out all the aliens and eliminate all the handouts. We just need to ensure the works there. And there is a long list of work to be done to rebuild this country.

This is happening to me as well. There must be a little astroturfing money left. All I know is prices are going down in my area.
lil' Ben trying to act like he wasn't kvetching, just deport him, he's not worth it anymore:
He must have had a stroke when Netanyahu agreed 100% with Trump's trade policy.
To be fair to Shapiro, his line has consistently been that he doesn't see tariffs as a feasible long-term economic policy. He is a staunch free trade guy and sees these tariffs as a diplomatic bargaining ship. His concern was always that Trump might see tariffs as a long-term economic tool.
