With the media complicit in the lies it might actually work, too. To wit, half the country still thinks egg prices are horrific (and directly Trump's fault) and thinks that Stonks have collapsed (they finished up yesterday and are glowing greener than the drive by posters in here today). The propaganda machine got a fresh influx of money, thus the "hands off" protests this week -- which are based on another bald faced lie, that Trump is coming after Social Security / Medicare / etc.

That is to say, and this isn't anything new: The left is living in their own gated community that is the segregated bubble of reality they exist in. Anyone listening to the media will have the same impression, since the media is the gatekeeper of that gated community.

The only saving grace is that a supermajority now support yeeting illegals et all, even with a full press demoralization campaign from the left and American Pravda. The left is losing the war on opinions, as no one agrees with the 8% of batshit progressives that control the Democrats. Everyone's tired of seeing trannies and being told we have to pretend they're stunning and brave, that we have to ignore Niggers doing Nigger shit, et cetera. The left overplayed their hand, thinking their glorious cultural revolution was just a few weeks away, that progress only ever goes one way, that no one in the world could disagree with them with good faith (all their friends at the marxist bookstore and organic food co-op agrees!)...

But man, they damaged the shit out of things before we finally got tired enough to tell them no, didn't they?

if you don't know, you probably do but if you don't, legal immigrants get doordash etc accounts and rent them to their illegal buddies and cousins.

Why are we so eager to start a full on trade war with China anyway, our largest trading partner?, if we have to decouple, then do it gradually and slowly, I think burning everything down without any adjustment/transitionary period is actually a really, really bad idea for all of us.

People have written probably a collective 50 pages in this thread alone about why reshoring manufacturing is good. I haven't actually seen "fuck the other side" raised as one of the reasons.

Because China is a nation that does not endure duress. China is a nation of face. When it comes to promising things they're very skilled; when it comes to doing them they fail miserably. This has been proven pretty consistently in every interaction anybody has had with them, from an embarrassing war with India to basic trade. A country that still relies upon literal slave labor is not going to be a worthy replacement for the United States. I won't even get into how flimsy the yuan is.

1: China is the most expansionist country on the earth, and constantly threaten everyone else in the Indo Pacific region, which involves a lot of alternative trading partners and US allies

2: Because if they don’t get put into their place, they’ll talk themselves into something stupid like invading Taiwan

3: Because we’re embarrassing them for acting like they’re cooler than us

4: Because 50% of the shitty jewelry your girlfriend got off Etsy was actually a chink drop shipping front, and contains toxic amounts of cadmium, which can cause you to die from renal necrosis.
