Some of the folks on cow have suggested that she's blogging less frequently in recent years and months because Claire and Lola's deterioration is picking up. Heck, Claire even looked fairly cute as a baby, but now they're both just goblins in constant pain.

Lola is clearly worse off, even though she's the youngest. Apparently any amount of anesthesia would kill her so she can't undergo surgery, and I think both girls are at least partially blind. Lola will likely die first and then Claire will kick it as her parents freak out.

This is incredibly morbid on my part, but I wonder how Gwen will handle their deaths publicly. Will she move on, disappear and live a quiet life, or will she milk it for all it's worth, highly publicize their deaths and attempt to raise money for microcephaly awareness, particularly the genes responsible (she's admitted she still hasn't tracked them down in her specific case. It's mentioned here?)

I'm an awful person for wanting to follow up with this family to see how the deaths of their children will be dealt with, but I'm truly curious. I wouldn't be surprised if she saw it as a burden lifted and tried to remove herself from the situation and put it behind her despite trying to portray herself as a caring supermom dedicated to spreading "awareness." She strikes me as highly self absorbed despite pretending to be the opposite.

How old is Cal now? Unless mom has somehow mentally damaged him enough that he's can't separate, I wouldn't be surprised if he checked out and never looked back. That will definitely happen if he goes away to college and gets a taste a normal existence for a kid his age.

She's communicating that she's in severe pain from her conditions. Certainly not the same as a typical child crying because he/she was moved emotionally by unfortunate events or circumstances. The way she tries to normalize her kids and project non-existent things onto them is harrowing. She should pay more attention to Cal instead.

How she treats her girls reminds me very much of autism speaks campaigns and autistic mommy bloggers ranting about how a normal child is hidden and trapped underneath the prison cell that is autism. *shudder* It just reeks of disappointment and insecurity as I've said earlier. It's not easy to raise a special needs kids, but no amount of pretend is going to change the situation. False hope is a scary, scary thing.

The video description is heartbreaking:

People don't realize how much hearing Claire cry means to us. For SO LONG we didn't see her show any emotion. This cry, though so sad & heartbreaking to see, is one of the first times our daughter has been able to communicate with us!

I wonder if they've ever attempted facilitated communication. Claire strikes me as the type who would. "See, they do have emotions! They do have feelings! They're just trapped in a body that doesn't let them express them outside of written communication! They're secretly normal, I swear!!!!"

Is anyone going to say it? Ok I'm going to say it.

I think this woman has a scat fetish. She definitely has a preoccupation with poop. She describes it in excruciating detail. It's really unsettling because if she does fetishise poop - these are her mentally retarded daughters and if not, then it seems like a boundary she knowingly oversteps to garner attention. She is such a vile creature that mother.

does anyone have a link to the pics of the apology letter cal was forced to write? on lolcow.farms there was speculation that it might've actually been the mom's handwriting, which would mean that she fabricated the whole story of forcing cal to write the letter.

the letter itself was super sad and if cal really did write it, it really shows potential emotional damage. however if the mom wrote it, it would be creepy levels of projection. either way it was difficult to read.

I find it extremely disturbing that she props them up like dolls and then talks about what they've "been doing" as if they're able-bodied and sentient. I cannot imagine how painful it must be to have two severely disabled children like this, but it doesn't seem like a good coping mechanism to me, especially when her healthy son seems to have been pushed to the side and ignored.

He probably yearns for the day when they'll both stop breathing and I honestly can't blame him.

Yeah, they have a degenerative condition. What little brains they have will further deteriorate.

If you compare with older pictures, it's also obvious that their contractures are getting more severe, with their limbs becoming increasingly twisted and gnarled.
The mother has posted about Claire becoming unable to grasp objects like it's no big deal. Obviously their contractures are going to cause them pain, but apparently the mother objects to giving them painkillers.

Oh, and the blindness thing is cortical visual impairment. Their eyes work, but their brains are too damaged to actually allow them to process what they see.
Their bulging eyes are due to the fact that their cranium (and therefore orbits) is too small and deformed to accomodate their eyeballs.

And instead of allowing them to live out their brief existence in comfort and dignity, the parents broadcast their protracted suffering and publish pictures of them in silly costumes or covered in their own fæces.


There is absolutely no reason any living creature should be made to live an existence like this. This woman should've aborted.
