I think people are generally out of touch on how much time and money it takes to establish domestic production facilities and supply lines. I got my undergraduate in political science by taking out loans. After thinking about it for some time I actually agree with you after initially being inclined to disagree for obvious reasons.

There is a world where we can fix the system and help everyone. I have an assocaites in Comp Sci, but I withdrew because the money I was pouring into schooling was not promising any returns. There was no offer for internships, no one was giving me free money to finish my degree, I was spending half my time doing useless bullshit like philosophy and bowling because it's required. I went to the community college instead, which is way more affordable, but doesn't offer anything more than a two year. All that time and money is gone, literally burned into a pit because I never saw a single penny from it.

I feel for people I do. Some people really are trying to better themselves. But schools are nothing more than playgrounds for kids to get fucked and drunk. The schools don't even take education seriously, why would they? The system swallows them all up anyways so why would I be in favor of pouring more money into the pit? We could train Americans in half the time for less than half the cost if schools actually tried to teach people. Instead colleges and universities are rich kids clubs stroking their ego and wealth. If we fix the problem then everyone wins.
