Can someone explain to me the whole "INSIDER TRADING!!!" cope I'm seeing from butthurt panicans who lost all their funko pop money? I don't even understand their theory of what he did wrong. As far as I understand insider trading is trading based off of non public knowledge, or giving that knowledge to someone else for the purpose of them trading on it. Doesn't announcing something on twitter make it public? Like the exact fucking opposite of "insider"? Literally any human being with access to the internet had the ability to read the President's tweet and act or not act accordingly. I know at this point the 26%ers are just rabidly reflexively foaming at the mouth and tourettesing out that every single thing he does is illegal, but this one is so dumb I can't even see any underlying argument.
Regressive Tolerance. It's how Marxists program culture warriors.
"If our side did it, it was good. It doesn't matter what it was; by definition, it was a good thing. If it was a bad thing, then either they did it for a good reason, or they weren't really on our side (they were, in fact, on your side the whole time!), or you just don't understand why it was good, or LOOK OVER THERE, A DISTRACTION -- what? Oh the thing that was not so good? That's last week's news, why are you living in the past?"
"If the other side did it, it was bad. It doesn't matter what it was; by definition, anything the other side does is bad. If it was a good thing they did, then either they did it for a bad reason, or they did it because we forced him to (so really it was US that did the good thing!), or you are too stupid to understand why it's really bad, or you're a bad person for not thinking it was bad like me (a good person, by definition)."
The programming is simple. Every thing your tribe does gets the maximum benefit of the doubt and justification and painted in the best light. Everything the enemy tribe does gets no benefit of the doubt, ever. They don't think any harder about it than the above. They don't need to. It's religious thought process. Our side good, your side bad, now pardon me while I unearth some insane moon logic to explain why.
It turns the culture war, politics, gender relations, race relations, everything into a simple calculation: Us vs Them. Even the dumbest, most checked out, most retarded culture warrior can grasp that.
Trump's methods actually caused the economy to have it's best day in history. But he's bad. And everything he does is, by definition, bad. Thus, he had to have impure motives when he did this good thing. What's an impure motive? He helped his rich friends get richer on the backs of everyone else. Thus, the cognitive dissonance is solved (for a while) and all is right in the world. The good people are still good doing good things and the bad people are still bad doing good things for bad reasons (which means they did a bad thing).
