I remember first term, Trump subsidized farmers who grew soybeans, since suddenly there was no market for the soybeans they already grew.

I don't remember the timing off the top of my head, but nobody has planted yet this season. I wonder if farmers will choose to plant less soy this year.

If not, shit baby you knew the risks of continuing to rely on China to buy your soy. Leaning toward no subsidy this time myself.

Spoke with someone about this, farmers tend to have a crop rotation as a way to not have to add nitrogen. Modern corn is a nitrogen black hole, soybeans are nitrogen fixing and add it back into the soil.

So they are just going to stick with their rotation plans. Guess we'll see if they need bailed out again.
