No. He's had a job at an AT&T callcenter for years now that seems to pay very well and has given him plenty of opportunities for time off that he's completely ungrateful for. He's been openly moaning about how they reduced the maximum amount of time he's allowed to take off at once to one week, and how it's "the most bullshit thing [he's] ever seen."

The debt he has is his mortgage and his student loans, which he's on a payment plan for. It's part of the reason he's seemingly given up on his plans to seek employment in Japan, because he'd still be paying the same amount monthly he is now but with a lower income.

I bet in about 6 months hes gonna have a freakout on a customer or something and get fired.

I’m just coming home from a trip to glorious Nippon myself. The eye opening experience of immersing in Japanese society left a lasting impression on my humble self, that was fostered in the harsh and primitive Western world.
