Okay, some fodder for a 'junk silver disguised as a deal' post, but also some one ounce rounds for decent price, even some from fairly well-known mints for under $35. That's pretty cool if you haven't been in the game for many major dips and aren't willing to shell out for 100oz bars to get a $1.89/oz premium. But wait, what's this?

75% off premium? Surely if you don't care for numismatics and just want as much silver per dollar as possible, that's your best buy, right? Just get a few hundred of those, and you'll qualify for a price that might be close to that 75%. But wait just a minute...

As low as .89
per round. Meaning that each ounce of silver here is actually at a premium of almost 9 bucks, at best. If you got suckered by 75% off the dealer's choice secondary market coins without looking any deeper and bought 100, you overpaid by more than $100 compared to the same weight in kangaroos, which you know are uncirculated and backed by a real government. American eagles would probably be similar by weight to the pile of secondary market 1/10ths.
Maybe a silly little thing that doesn't need to be spelled out except for idiots, but always do the extra arithmetic and make sure you're getting the deal that you think you are.
