A Muslim cabbie was acquitted of rape in Halifax after he was pulled over with an unconscious naked woman in the back seat. Police said the woman's panties were pulled down, twisted, and soaked with urine.
The Muslim guy had his pants down as well....she clearly was just begging for it.
He also got his license back to do it yet again.

Reminds me of that case in Britain where a super rich Saudi said he "accidentally tripped and penetrated" the teenage girl who accused him of raping her. He was cleared of all charges. Now, granted, in that case it was a clear example the law not applying to people who have the money to stay above it, so I don't know what the fuck happened here.

Also, they basically told this asshole that he can rape women and get away with it. Way to go, guys, I'm sure he'll never touch another woman again!

You could've chosen a less hysteric source. Just about every article I've seen about this controversy (which has been front page news almost everywhere) is about the province-wide outrage surrounding the judge for acquitting him: there are protests planned and complaints being lodged with the Canadian Judicial Council to have him disciplined or removed from the bench. The prosecution is currently seeking an appeal. Basically nobody thinks this is okay except for the judge who rendered it.

I knew a guy who was a transit peace officer in a large Canadian city. Between that job and his former career as a paramedic, he absolutely loathed cab drivers.

On one occasion, while on duty as a peace officer, he witnessed a cab driver clearly attempting to rape a very intoxicated female passenger who was trying to flee the cab while the cabbie was trying to pull her back in. He arrested the guy, only to see him still driving a cab a few months later (he was not sure what happened with the legal process around the case because he had passed the cabbie off to the police after the arrest and they had taken it from there). He was appalled so he called up a manager at the cab company and asked how he could possibly allow someone like that to continue driving for them, and the manager stated that if they didn't allow sex offenders to work for them they wouldn't be able to hire enough drivers.

Earlier when he was a paramedic, he almost got into a fistfight when he was responding to a heart attack call at a mall and a cab driver was parked in the emergency lane to pick up a fare and refused to move so he could park the ambulance.

He had many stories along these lines.

This is big news here, lots of protests, calling for judge's head. The guy was on a bus and people started harassing him:

The Crown is also appealing the judge's decision. So, he may still yet pay the price. He is no longer driving a cab here.

It's one of those rare incidents where people of all political stripes are united in condemning this asshole. People aren't going to let this issue die quietly.

A local news website is claiming that this asshole may have fled the country. It's not clear whether this is true, but it wouldn't surprise me too much if this did in fact happen.
