Null needs a sheepskin bomber jacket. Removable shearling cuffs and neck. He's in Florida land, so he can get a vented one for heat.
Wool peacoat is classic too, just make sure it's WW2 styled and not modern. Modern peacoats make you look like you're wearing your wife's coat. The WW2 classic cuts boxify male form in a very classic looking way.

Also an M65 field jacket. None of the gay fashion ones made by like American Eagle.
You can get milsurps for like $10, every man needs one. Can get the ones with zip out liners so you can use it for more weather conditions. I've got 2, my wife steals mine all the time for outdoors work.

But I am partial to the early Korean War era M1951s. They're like the M65 field jacket, but they've got more classic WW2 styling. Like buttons instead of zippers, center ties, and double breasted collars. Everyone looks like a main character in one. Pic of the early style attached for reference.

The difference is the switch "just werks". Normalfags don't want to fiddle around with linux trying to set up an emulator.
sudo pacman -S [whatever fucking emulator you want]
The only thing that might be marginally annoying is having to look up to see what the specific package name is.

Brandit makes a solid clone, or at least they did when I got mine years ago. The liner comes out with buttons, though, not a zipper. More annoying, but more repairable.

For more modern consoles you also need to track down BIOS dumps.

You would be suprised how many young people are completely and utterly technologically illiterate. I had to explain fairly recently to a person more intelligent than me what a gigabyte is and why no I can’t put a 40gb file on a MEGA drive has 30gb of free space left.

I've said this before a bunch on stream but when I was a kid I was really certain programming was going to become a deadend career as everyone became super good at computers but these days i think there are fewer real programmers than there was in the 2000s when it was just a bunch of germans, russians, and extremely white people from the midwest.

A small but funny thing happened recently, a YTPMV and shitposter YouTuber MarlonVids (who for some reason follows the official KiwiFarms account on Twitter) saw 2 retards having e-sex on VRChat in the PUBLIC lobby

They then got mad at Marlon for recording them

After the tweet went viral, people started going to the spot of the incident like it's a tourist attraction

The VRChat Thread provides kino yet again. This time a VRchat youtuber (who follows the Kiwifarms xitter) brought on a friend to try out VRchat only to immediately find 2 people having ERP sex roleplay on a public lobby. His clips of them goes viral and the public lobby becomes a VRchat tourism destination for the "e-sex incident" including the guys who got caught sperging out hard at him lol

My comment was more a statement of frustration that a single terminal command is beyond people's ability to figure out. As to the BIOS dumps, if someone can't manage to download something and drop it into a folder, they ought to be forcibly castrated. It's bizarre to me that people have a technology that so much of their daily lives depend on that they simply refuse to learn to use beyond the most superficial level. I've had people in their early twenties not know what a registry edit was. They use a Windows laptop for school and work every day, and registry edits were some arcane, forbidden knowledge to them.

Fortunately, Pamac and equivalent frontends exist, and I hope they see more development as time goes on. I'd be surprised if Valve isn't putting at least a little bit into their development. If they do, the Steam Deck's whole value proposition changes from the Switch but good to a portable do-anything machine. We might finally have something deliver on the promise netbooks made.

They have been trying to depress the wages of programmers my entire life, when I was in school everyone was concerned about outsourcing...but yeah you are right, the kids are in these locked down phone based systems for everything. The AI is going to be a crutch for many of them and they will wash out.

They are slapping some canned trap beats over an autotune vocal recorded on a cell phone and thinking they are artists. They have mod managers because they can't be bothered to use directories. In every discipline things are getting simpler, more formulaic, more monetized and more controlled.

Big tech and the military industrial complex are going to respond with training initiatives/grants (for more than just women who are going to quit anyway) and H1B1s of course, if they have too.... but I think they are banking on AI replacing Jr. devs near entirely and being able to run lean through the storm of high interest rates.

You kind of feel bad for the kids, the gulf between beginner and employable has never been larger but at the same time we live in the golden age of virtual apprenticeship and there has never been a better time to learn something new or perfect your craft.

I regret to inform you but it’s getting worse. In my year there’s give or take 200 students. When we’re all together during lectures i think aside from me two or three people use laptops to take notes.

Most people use normal notebooks (mostly because professors are starting to ban electronic devices during lectures because people keep recording lectures) but among tech users the most popular device is a tablet with either a stylus or a keyboard. And I of course mean android or iPads. It recently came out because of an assignment that a good chunk of the year didn’t have access to a computer at all and they all had to form a day’s long queue to to the one computer that had statistica on it.

Point is, many zoom zooms only have access to mobile devices, they just don’t have a regular PC. And if they do it’s often some fossil running windows 7 that only exists to run an old version of MS office.

My children will be handed a laptop with a blank hard drive, a flash drive with Arch on it, and a printed copy of the installation instructions. If they can get that running, they can have a phone. I'll let the archinstall command be a fun Easter egg.
