The longer this goes on, the more I think they have no way to regain control. It's been, what, 4 or 5 hours now? No way everyone over there is still asleep at the wheel. They must be trying everything they can, which from the sound of it may be very little. If they can't wrestle back control by Wednesday I think it actually may be fair to call it game, set, match, total sharty victory.

The site was stable with ads back in the moot days. Hiroshimoot came in and got support rolling for higher-resolution images, video, etc. He also introduced the 4chan pass which, for the low low price of 20 American neetbux per year, allows you to post without completing the captcha.

No one's certain how many passes have been sold but hiro didn't expand advertising and stopped ebegging as much once passes were rolled out so I'm assuming they were bringing in enough revenue to keep him happy.

I had that feeling from the start when they didn't archive everything as it was going down and were releasing fakeleaks instead of imaging/exfiltrating while they had time. Regardless, it's going to take a fuck ton of manpower to get recover from this and get 4chan back online, if it even does.

i have zero interest in running an imageboard. my work with imageboards was one of the most painful experiences of my life. completely thankless suffering. you wade through oceans of child porn just to have people yell at you constantly. 9chan basically skewered all my idealism.

yeah its all 4chan pass. There is a supplement of ads which are all mostly porn ads anyway but 4chan pass is the bulk of it, and they raised the price just last year anyway i think its now $30 usd

So, I wonder what else the Soyteen has access to, aside from Janny info. Would he have any access to information regarding the posters on there? Only reason I ask is because a few years ago, there was a murderer who posted previously private gore pictures of one of his victims. Curious to know if it’s possible to pull any data from where that post came from.

If it’s a dumb question, I apologize. I just know if there was someone doing that on this site, they’d be arrested knowing Josh would cooperate with authorities on the matter.

Edit: The case was related to an old cold case in Las Vegas.

It’s still really crazy how one of the most important people in the history of the internet just up and left and no one really cares. Ever since he joined google he has not posted anywhere on the internet. He really went from being terminally online to not posting in a decade.

But seriously, if you ever wanted to be the admin of a big independent site this is the best opportunity since gamergate.
