4chan went to shit when Gookmoot took over and it was obvious the site wasn't being properly taken cared of. The moderation got way worse and the crackdown on "racism" nearly turned to reddit tier levels of shitlib bullshit. I frequented /pw/ and schizos could spam the place all day without any punishment, but you write nigger once you're gone within a couple of hours with a 3 day ban. At the very least, if 4chan does come back, the moderation team and jannies have to be completely replaced.

I cannot fathom the site managing to retain staff after this, volunteer internet moderation is already embarrassing on its own but being direct targets of doxxing makes it not worth the power trip. Or am I overestimating them?
most likely scenario i think is the site becomes undermoderated as they continue with a skeleton crew of jannies even more power-drunk and petty than usual.

using .edu emails for controversial signups is more common than you think. admins usually just think "what an idiot" but i'm sure there are KF users who use their .edu as well. some signups on other sites are professors with bad intentions (writing garbage about your website)

Resetera required you to use a work or edu domain for signing up ostensibly to "cut down spam" but effectively used it to rat you out to your boss or school if you posted wrongthink.

Sifted through all the replies after waking up but nothing else was leaked while I was asleep? Insane the site is still down, they really didn't have any plans for this. Has anyone figured out hashcat for cracking the janny's passwords? We need the Discord.

Shoulda posted this earlier
Everyone should've listened to raptor jesus

It's been hours since 4chan was hacked and down and none of the staff have made any public announcement regarding it. Do they really no longer give a shit about the site anymore or not wanting to give the shartyfags attention?
Hi all
Just another rapefugee here
Ive used the site regularly since about 2012, but at the time i dont think the site being sold off changed all that much. 2016 however brought massive public and private attention to the site, and while some would argue it was downhill before that, I think most would agree it's been steadily down hill ever since. The places i frequented most were /o/ and eternal trap threads and some hobby boards, but /o/ has slowly become unusable for any useful discussion, and /b/ is about 95% porn and bbc spam nowadays. It's a common sentiment the site sucks to use, but I think it paints a picture that the sire administrators never really cared about it beyond shilling passes for a revenue source. The admins seemed to have an active interest in making the site unusable and uninteresting; not surprising considering NGO docs have been posted before about that exact phenomenon.
I've been lurking kw for a long time and I'll likely stick around if 4ch never comes back. Hi everyone.
