Kind of OT: I stopped watching the TV-Show because I felt like it became a bit... pornographic, I guess? Maybe not in the regular sense but it definitely crosses a line where it's not really shocking to get across the message anymore, but completely OTT. China has been undergoing a slow-motion economic collapse for the better part of 5 years, and it's only getting worse. a kilo of beef is around $0.30 and people can't afford it, a complete collapse of the middle class et c. a Polissa in PRC arc would likely kill her or see her used as a propaganda piece for the CCP (although i doubt this since she's terrible at social media optimization and has no real following enough to either sell products or boost the CCP's foreign profile).
how about this example: it's pretty common to get a deal on a service or something by getting a club membership in China, could be a gym or grocery store or whatever. with shops failing, and the rise of "liquidators" that handle shop closures, it's becoming more commonly seen for a shop to sell out year-long memberships or lifetime memberships with prepaid cards for "big discounts" for groceries or health items or whatever, then the shop closes down and uses a liquidator to gtfo with the funds, leaving only enough to handle the closure. the liquidator buys the business for a song with a new holding company and immediately files for bankruptcy and protects themselves through connections and paying a pittance on outstanding debts to listed creditors like banks or whatever. ergo the banks and investors of the original business get a small payout, the liquidator makes their profit, and the original owners exit the market with customer funds being "unrecoverable" outside of years long small claims courts that will favor secured creditors anyway. the PRC is the most mercenary capitalist society i've ever seen.

my guess is a combo of grass is greener, a need to avoid responsibility (and an attraction for pop-socialism), and 100% buying into the little pink's propaganda. she has no love for the US because the US expects her to work for her bread and she imagines she will get free unlimited high quality bread in the PRC.

I recently learned that there's no primary care in China. (I'm sure it's a bit more complicated than that, but there's no primary care as we know it.). It's one of the reasons why the Chinese government promotes traditional Chinese medicine--to fill the routine medical care gap. You have to wait until something is very wrong and then show up for specialty care.
No showing up every three months for your pain killers and diabetes medication. I doubt she'd like it very much.

Medical care in China is certainly different. Villages and other small communities depend on local healers, some of whom have some medical knowledge and education but many don’t.
If your local person can’t deal with whatever is going on with you, you may get referred to a larger center with resources. You still have to get there and medical care isn’t free.
I suppose it’s an exaggerated version of what we see in the US and Canada. If you live in a large metropolitan centre, you have more resources available or close by. Smaller community? Now you have to add the inconvenience and expense of travel.
To be fair, it has to be frustrating for health care providers who are invested in their vocation; who are conscientious practitioners. Chinese politicians are all too often more interested in appearances than in the welfare of their people.
Just look at how they tried to hide SARS and CoVD and how their bullshit made things worse. New diseases can spring up anywhere and I don’t know anyone who assigns blame for that; it’s just the way it is.
China due to a number of reasons, tends to be the source of a number of new illnesses; especially respiratory. Rather than lean in to the reality and develop an openly well known expertise, they still try to hide outbreaks and they lie and lie.
