I miss the user anonimity provided by 4chan. It lets you dismiss all the screeching retards and only listen to people that back their posts with evidence.

genuinely the anonymity is what makes it special. it's rare for people on a chan to cultivate a persistent identity and depending on the board the tripfags get ridiculed for it. meanwhile on platforms like reddit or x or bluesky you find more people with wholesale narcissism branding their "content" with their government names and faces in order to virtue signal to whatever group they wish to profit from, whether financially or socially. inside the marketplace of these grifters it's the anonymous who are outright dismissed

public discourse sometimes demands that dissenters be allowed to speak without fear of personal ramifications. in this century's cultural climate of doxing, swatting and trying to get people fired to punitively strip them of their livelihood for wrongthink, anonymity is the most important tool in the box. the founding fathers knew this when they published the federalist papers, which is why the ability to speak without fear of the government (or the angry mob) is a cornerstone of our first amendment rights. it's why that right was outlined first, all other rights are ensured by the right to air grievance

this shit happens all the time. staunch anti-schizos are arguably as (if not more) delusional than the actual schizos because sometimes you would innocuously post on a thread and all of a sudden you get accused of being Xfag or whatever boogeyman is on their mind that day. and you cant really have a long lasting general on any topic without it eventually turning into this kind of dynamic. im pretty sure it happens in almost every /vg/ thread. anonymity and the ability to easily ban evade makes for an explosively autistic formula, especially on boards where the topics are about niche things like anime, video games, or cartoons. a thread on 4chan schizos in general would be really fucking funny but the site seems to be on its way to the grave right now, and even if it DOES come back, there would probably be too many to keep track of.

not to mention the risk of them coming to the thread and sperging out like what happened here, but personally, i think that adds to the hilarity.
