If my Thinkpad with Windows 7 didn't die recently I would probably still be on Windows.

I have a shitty Thinkpad t410 (old quad core first gen, Intel onboard graphics) I'm trying to get a decent OS on. Linux has serious bloat issues that I don't want to manually circumvent by starting on bare metal, and FreeBSD has driver issues for the Intel video chipset. Im thinking OpenBSD.

I have been considering a Mac for my next laptop, considering it seems I am slowly walking back into the Apple walled garden by buying an iPhone. Last time I used Mac was Snow Leopard era, that was amazing. It is still good today or has it been Jeeted like Windows has with 10 and 11?

Extremely difficult to find better hardware for the price. The OS sucks in some ways, but not as much as Windows.

No idea, I'm on iOS 13.6.1 and I'm dying on iOS 13.6.1. I hear it's not bad if you install Linux but that was during the x86-64 days.

They do tell them why it failed, because certain black marks on the background check are pretty much ignored. I have a felony for armed robbery, and multiple employers have said as long as it's not a sex offense, they don't care.

Linux is probably your best bet anyways due to drivers. There's still a few non cucked distros out there. I'm on Slackware and thoroughly enjoying it, although it may be too "bloated" to your taste, and if you aren't a nerd about Linux you may have trouble.
Don't forget the Linux catchphrase: "You always picked the wrong distro".

My bloat issues are related to something in the background, most likely. I get literal 2-3 second hangs constantly, and I can't trace it to the DE or X.
