“Harry P*tter” is the most performative piece of virtue signalling bullshit I think I’ve ever seen. The comic is entirely about Harry Potter, it features an image of J K Rowling and a reproduction of the Hogwarts Legacy logo, but apparently a single letter O is all it takes to tip people over the edge.

It’s a common Social Justice Warrior unpersoning tactic. It’s ostensibly for trigger warning purposes (or to evade the algorithm flagging it a la “suicide” as “suic*de.”) In this case, however, it’s obvious that Billy despises Harry Potter so much that he refuses to refer to it by its own name in text. The irony is that much like Voldemort being initially referred to by euphemisms in universe, it comes across as excessive and more proves more than anything how overly sensitive Billy is over something far innocuous in comparison. How can a normal person take him seriously if mentioning a children’s series in passing triggers him that badly?

Meanwhile, Billy draws himself looking exactly the same as the child protagonist of his comics. Really makes you think.

He’s been flip flopping between drawing Stephane as older and his usual child self recently. While it’s obvious that Stephie is his author avatar when he’s not actually drawing himself, I have wondered for a moment or two if this was really Billy sans pink hair with some of the most recent comics where it is just Stephane talking.
