Victor Markhoff / Ana Victoria Markhoff / vvictorman_uel - Powerchair faker pooner, has every illness, allergic to Krebs cycle, bed mayo enjoyer, kicked out of house and mental hospital, constant ebeggar, applesauce heiress paid to yeet her teets

I missed this. She posted it right before the sob story tweet.

Lord, she’s stupid. Does she really not realize how transparent this is, considering what @horse toots posted? Not to mention the entitlement she displays as well. Who the fuck thinks you need hospitalization for not being able to eat when you’re older than, say, eight months?

Compazine and ass-pats? Maybe this is about getting a note for school.

Is she working on prereqs for a port-a-cath? I can't articulate why, but she doesn't seem to have the same goals as the usual tube/cath/TPN munchie girls, NPO x̄ Starbucks.
Yeah she is too consistently plump to have really given an ED a proper go. Most of the toobz girls start with some variety of attention and control seeking via that route. She does have a fixation on getting people to touch her butt. I wonder if she's sublimating all her unrequired fujo yaoi fantasies into having people examine and scope her leaky ass.

You are way out of your wheelhouse here. They have been looking for a faster acting antidepressant for years, for obvious reasons- if someone is severely depressed, waiting 6-8 weeks to titrate up on an SSRI that has questionable odds of being effective even at full dose is both inconvenient and potentially dangerous. Especially since people tend to get the increased energy and reduced inhibition effects before the antidepressant effects hit, leading to the notorious increased risk of suicide during that window.

So a lot of novel angles have been tried. DXM at higher doses has had a reputation as a rapid mood lifter among the Erowid types for ages now. So research was done, and they came to a formulation that worked well enough to get approval. It's far from perfect, but there is a real need for some faster acting antidepressants so it is a reasonable avenue for research, not some reckless Frankenstein experiment.
Wasn't there a meta study that made the determination that ssris are likely bullshit? At least in terms of treating depression on a sincere level..

NYU's academic calendar is an interesting accompaniment to the sob-story seed:

Lmao at even having a pass/fail option for a class. I would have been automatically failed for having the temerity to even ask for that. Just goes to show that the Ivies and their wannabes will do anything to keep that sweet tuition money flowing in and you know her parents are paying full freight for her presence at NYU. Pathetic.

More like Copeazine.

Lord, she’s stupid.

Agreed, but she's yet to face any actions for her stupid Totally Disabled Heckin Real Dood Scholar, so why not keep at and run it into the ground and avoid any responsibilities for as long as possible?

They aren't bullshit, exactly, but they have not lived up to what everyone hoped for from them when they first came on the market, let's just say that.

They definitely do what they say they do chemically. The problem is that we have discovered that treating depression isn't always as simple as fiddling with serotonin levels. And I don't just mean "a pill can't fix shitty social circumstances" but just biochemically, there appear to be different subtypes of depression that respond differently to various medications. And yes, for some types of depression, SSRIs don't perform a lot better than placebo.

The SNRIs were an attempt to improve on this, but they have their own problems, especially in that norepinephrine is of course related directly to adrenalin release, so while it will give you some energy, and possibly pain relief, it may also make you more anxious and jittery.

SSRIs are known for akathisia/jitteriness at the beginning of therapy and at those increases also, though. Headaches and diarrhea also, mostly related to changes in receptor regulation.

These changes have also been attributed to the increase in suicidal thoughts and attempts, especially in those younger than about 25 (previously 18). That used to be solely attributed to an increase in energy in someone so depressed - leading them to be more likely to feel that way AND act on it. The old antidepressants are messy mixes of receptor action, including anti-arrhythmic effects, which led to their deadliness in overdose. Until the 80s, we didn’t know enough specifics to tease out not only what receptors were being affected, but what other receptors were being affected, never mind sub receptors. We still don’t really know what it all means lol.

SNRIs are also messy in the same ways but extra. However, they can be useful for things like nerve pain, which plain SSRIs are generally not. They may also show effectiveness sooner, and/or work in patients in whom SSRIs are ineffective.

The old tricyclic antidepressants were useful for that because of their mix of serotonin and norepinephrine effects in varying amounts, depending on which one you chose.
Generally amitriptyline and doxepin were more purely serotonergic whereas desipramine was almost purely noradrenergic (similar to today’s atomoxetine, used for mainly ADHD in the US but is also a valid antidepressant for those who do not tolerate serotonergic effects)

OT, but the entire university system in my glorious Scandinavian motherland is fail/pass only. You can re-sit exams, but three attempts and you’re out (at least in med school, some programs allow more attempts). Didn’t happen to anyone in my year. One guy dropped out to become a professional e-gamer though, lol.

Thread tax: Vicky probably wasn’t admitted because she’s now fondly reminiscing about lying to neurologists:

Girl, you had a migraine.

She seems to have at least some awareness of the fact that it's shameful in soem respect, for her to be doing this. Other munchies don't even bother with performing the idea that they shouldn't haunt the ER so much.
Vicky seems to know deep down that she shouldn't, though she point to this knowledge, due to having parents who have tried to say No at least sometimes, as deeply psychologically abusive.
You see the tumblr ideology of entitlement, clashing with the more normal aspects of her upbringing in this pretence she paints.

In reality, she probably just snorted Vyanse and spent the time tweaking uselessly.
Overly pedantic, but I thought the point of Vyvanse as opposed to other long acting variants of Adderall was that it had to be processed by the liver and isn't as fun for tweakers? Though of course Vicky would snort it anyways.

If you have a bachelor's degree from an American college/university I am nearly certain that your institution offered a pass/fail option of some variety, but had limits on how many pass/fail courses could be counted towards your final degree. Pass/fail grading is not at all special to "the ivies and their wannabes."

The joke about NYU is the hilariously bullshit DIY a major program Vicky is in and the fact that they keep letting her reenroll.

As long as the check clears...

Reactions: Aunt Carol
I so want her to share the ideas on Twitter or whatever she is on that she plans on sharing with the class. I would pay a classmate to record it and post it.
So she thinks her ideas are so smart that she she must disguise them as stupid? Like she is trying to be so humble lest she offend someone with her privilege of being intelligent. And everything with her is eugenics.
This was a great find @Zemblan Physics !!

Yes Vicki, the idea that your thoughts should make sense and be consistent with facts is just an oppression tactic to keep the retards neuro-proletariat down!! Every thought that enters your mushy lil brain MUST be shared in a manic stream of consciousness! Preferably online so I keep getting my entertainment, please and thanks

This has got to be one of my all time Vicky favorites. My sides!

(I’m using this the next time I’m blurting out something exceptional at work.)

:story: :story: :story:
That is truly amazing. One of the most exceptional things I've ever seen posted on twitter, and that puts it high in the running for most exceptional things ever.

I'm hoping for a "The Producers"-like arc where once she only starts saying things she thinks are dumb her professors start thinking she's actually incredibly bright and must just be limited by her disability, and she get so upset at this that she drops out. You laugh, but remember, the last time she tried to say something dumb was when she said she was a teenage 26 year old girl tricked by the trans mafia into losing her hair. Frankly, I couldn't write a more accurate thread description, at least not without descending into profanity.

Even Ignatius Reilly couldn't match Vicky for sheer pompous stupidity.
