TRUMP-ARANCELES

An Indian man claimed his U.S. visa for a dream holiday to Florida was rejected in less than a minute after answering just three questions.

The man who was applying for a visa which is typically used for tourism or short business visits shared his ordeal on social media site Reddit, in hopes of finding out why he was rejected.

In his post, the man with the username "nobody01810" shared that he appeared for the visa interview at the U.S. Embassy in New Delhi.

"I had my B1/B2 visa interview at the U.S. Embassy recently, and I was rejected in less than a minute after just three questions. I'm trying to understand what went wrong and how I can improve for next time," he said.

He says he was asked by the interviewer: "Why do you want to travel to the US? Have you travelled outside of India? And do you have any family or friends in the US?"

The applicant said he answered all three questions honestly explaining he wanted a holiday in Florida, had no prior international travel experience and did have a girlfriend living in Florida.

But the US embassy officer apparently wasn't convinced, and his visa was said to have been denied in less than a minute.

Commenting on the incident he wrote: "What do you think triggered the quick rejection? Could I have answered differently while still being honest? Should I have avoided mentioning my girlfriend if my trip was meant to be for tourism? What steps would you recommend before reapplying?"

The user did not explain how or why he had a girlfriend living in Florida if he had no history of international travel.

Scores of comments followed the post in the USvisascheduling channel, discussing why he was rejected and what else he could have done.

It comes as Trump takes a tougher stance on visas which has seen him not only crackdown on illegal immigrants, but legal immigrants and tourists.

In March a French scientist was refused entry to the US after airport immigration officers found messages on his phone criticizing the Trump administration, according to the French government.

The space researcher had traveled to Texas for a conference near Houston, a source told AFP.

When he arrived in the US the researcher was subject to a random check, including a search of his work computer and his personal phone.

Officers had found messages discussing the Trump administration’s treatment of scientists, the source added.

The researcher was reportedly accused of writing messages “that reflect hatred toward Trump and can be described as terrorism,” and his equipment was confiscated before he was put on a plane back to Europe the following day.

Well that's too damn bad! America was built by immigrants so it should be for immigrants
Not like even in a "I hate immigrants" way even though I hate most of them. But immigrants didn't build America, not sure why that became the lefty take. Immigrants post 1970s are mostly leeches who sucked the integrity out of the American workforce. They overtook American neighborhoods and openly despise actual Americans. If you're actually a black woman in the states and not just another gay man larping on da farms, you should know that they do not like you and want South American levels of racial hierarchy.

America was built by settlers, who made the nation from nothing while fighting hostile browns, fauna, flora, and disease every step of the way. This is such a ridiculous progressive lie that doesn't hold up to even the slightest bit of scrutiny, so why does it get parroted so much?

To be very specific it was established by western europeans who had (in the context of the time) insane religious beliefs. They also weren't immigrants in the modern sense as they weren't immigrating to another country. They were sent to found and maintain colonies and conquer the new world (and they did).

The overall process was coordinated by the western europeans I can agree with but if we were to judge "americaness" based on actual labor and sweat that would make the Chinese laborers brought in more American then a rich Italian who moved here in the 1920s. Preferably only people who have blood ancestry that goes back to the founding times should be considered an American.

Fuck off we’re full.
Not just the United States but all over the world. Turns out the more people get in contact with Indian people the less likely the trust them or want them to visit.
This is response to people asking why Indian passport is weakening and more people getting denied entry into a country.

im surprised there’s one capable of self reflection. The reason they’re unpopular is they’re really cocky and they cause problems.

The "America was built by immigrants" line is such horseshit. America was built by colonials. As the country opened up we allowed immigrants to come over to become Americans, but we had fucking standards. Most were from Europe. The popular image of the boat full of immigrants passing the Statue of Liberty and signing the book at Ellis Island came from a time where we had mostly unskilled labor and tons of room for newcomers. Every major city and a lot of smaller ones all had manufacturing centers that needed workers. They had factories. The cities were growing and new buildings and infrastructure we being put up at rapid pace. Outside the cities we had countless farms. We had the jobs available for these people to support themselves. And the immigrants assimilated into the culture. They had to learn English. No one was going to bother with them if they didn't. And those who didn't stay in the cities or move on to farming helped settle new areas in the country and became homesteaders, shopkeepers, and helped build the railroads.

That is NOT the case today. Our cities have stopped growing, and what housing and resources that are there are finite and in demand from our own citizens. We have few low skill labor jobs, certainly not ones like factories and other manufacturing that can easily support a family. We no longer have the number of farms we once did. Labor jobs have shifted to high skill labor, requiring trade schools and education. Our industry has shifted to other high skill, high education fields as well, such as coding in the tech industry. We cannot afford to just allow every uneducated, unskilled loser from the third world to come to America. We have reached a point where any immigrant we allow to come to America must meet high standards, be an asset to society, and integrate into the culture. We cannot continue to take on an endless stream of welfare leeches who drain resources while contributing nothing to society in return, and don't even bother to learn the language and actually become Americans. To do so would be suicide.

We are a fully settled nation now. There are no new places to settle. We need immigration reform, but not the kind that makes it easier for just anyone to become a citizen. They need to meet strict criteria, be an instant benefit to the country, and need to come from areas of the world that are culturally compatible with American culture so they will more easily assimilate.
