Damn, Zack, EVS and Juju have gotten really racist due to Eric's continued success. A black man that grew up in current era not knowing of anime would have to give up his black card. Dragon Ball, Naruto, One Piece, Bleach etc etc are filled with black YT creators. Zack should not make such accusations lightly.

Meyer does not engage in manga or anime enough to be this mad. But the complete 180 on Eric over reasons I still don't understand will never not be funny.
To wit:
-Isom 1 comes out to great success and Eric says he's giving less focus to YouTube and YouTube drama to focus on the books.
Meyer then: This man is a genius making all the right moves.
-Eric stays the course and continues to do alright for himself.

Richard looks forward to a future where the lowly, poorly paid manga creator can leave his (or her) tiny studio and get a job on a loading dock, as they are replaced by expert AI prompt writers like himself. This is what Richard actually believes. I don't even think he understands art as a form of self-expression. He obviously can't name the 10 most wealthy and powerful mangaka in Japan, because he figures it's a pathetic job just like he sees it.
As to complaining that Eric July's American comics look like American comics in the comment, huh? They are American comics. He shouldn't be trying to create Japanese comic books. That niche is already saturated by actual translated Japanese comic books. From a purely business perspective, it's obvious that the Big Two American comic book companies have not been serving their American market which allowed manga to grow out of its niche. Make American Comics Great Again, aka MACGA... doesn't exactly roll off the tongue, oh well. That's where people like July have an opportunity.
My guess is that Richard never really intended to take advantage of this opportunity for real himself and always planned to be a grifter. Unfortunately for him and Ethan, Eric July took it seriously. Not sure how well he'll do, but I have no objection to him trying.

I disagree with that. He definitely wanted to be a real comic author. It was harder than he assumed (not helped by his work ethic and his need to do things the stupid way) and now here we are. He really wanted to be a comic author but believed that it would be easier.

Of all the people I know of, Meyer seems to have the least realistic expectations about AI's potential.
Amazing how he claims Platoon of all people doesn't watch the movies. The guy often makes 2 or 3 hour video essays about them!! Some of his vids are longer than the actual films he's critiquing! If his essays were 5 minutes long there might be some room for considering Zack's claim, but Platoon critiques the slightest minutiae with all the time he gives himself for it. I think the guy either watches the films more than once via pirate sites or he has eidetic memory due to all the details he comments on.
Does he still mention Waid? I always assumed he stopped mentioning Waid as part of whatever settlement he got from the suit. Zack didn't even say a peep when Waid went ballistic after Trump won the election last year.
