It's really over for them both. Does the current scene even allow a youtuber/podcaster/influencer/whatever to thrive and be ok like 10 years ago? There was always internet drama and "bullying" but now it's all politics and so personal. They should've all pulled a Pewdiepie - he got married, had a child, pulled away and only posts random videos or aesthetic vlogs once in a while to keep his audience going, but is off social media and is keeping his distance.

He needs to get off whatever medication he's on. Call it excuse making all you want but i've seen friends go through this, it's blatantly clear that around 2018 he got on some kind of ssri or something that "mutes" your personality, love of life, sex drive, and confidence (i wonder who suggested he do this?) and he's only increased his dosage ever sense.

If one day he just gets cut off somehow, he'll go through months of withdrawal and then wake up to the reality of what's been going on. It will hit him like a truck, and who knows what will happen from there. He either just quits the internet entirely, or goes on a de-apology tour.

He doesn't have to start kissing right wing ass disown his "new fans" (kek) or go back to saying nigger or any of that. He could honestly stop trying to do anything political or socially activist at all. If he just went back to being funny and entertaining like he used to be people would watch him. He would never get the veneer of invulnerability he used to have but people would watch his shit.

The thing is that in order to get over addiction and depression, you need both a lot of mental strength (which he lacks) and a supporting environment (which he lacks too). The things he would need to do are also the things that are impossible for him. All his good friends have left him, all of the people that surround him are willing to throw him under the bus and he cannot afford to leave his toxic wife as he will have no money or a job (that he has not ruined) to fall back on.

I know a lot of people are skeptical of SSRIs (for good reason) but I've seen them help a lot of people who genuinely needed them. BUT: I think you're right. I think Ian is overmedicated. He seems zonked out in most of his videos and there's a dull, listless look in his eyes.

I think he's the kind of person who doesn't need SSRIs but got prescribed them anyway, and when his symptoms didn't improve he kept upping the dosage. Mixed with whatever else he's taking it's probably got him really doped up to the point where he's basically in zombie mode.

hasan used to do mail opening streams where viewers could send him shit. most of the time it was just shirts or letters but some of the more parasocial types would send him swords and knives i think somebody sent him some super realistic airsoft guns as well.

he stopped those streams once he moved i think because he had way too much stuff and more and more people were just sending him stuff not as a gift but because they wanted him to shill their product for them.

so my guess is somebody send him the sword just because hasan mentioned he liked anime and since bleach is a generally known anime they assumed he would have known about it.
