I went to moe /co/ and they still have a 3 year old thread about Gilbert Godfrey's death on the catalog....
God, am I going to miss NBBMN on /mu/.

you best put some gematria on it

u go grrl.webp

A few of my favorite threads of all time were on /r9k/, where a guy posted his giant gaping holes on his back after his spinal surgery. They were absolutely ridiculous, and people kept making edits with his holes.

Here are the threads:
Part 1
Part 2
Part 3
Part 4

(this is a repost from another thread because I am a clumsy idiot who's awake at 2 AM)

Everyone knew Trump was zogged already. You don't get to run for president if you aren't. So the deal was between Zog + deporting turd worlders or Zog + 20 million more turd worlders. Not a hard choice to make. Fuentes is retarded for shilling for the latter.
The people running the whole "Nooo don't support the right-wing candidate he's zogged" script have always been retarded. Elections are a zero sum game, so dropping support for the right wing candidate is effectively an endorsement of the left-wing candidate. So you might feel righteous about yourself for warning people about the jews and their puppets in the moment, but in reality you are just advocating for more socialism, more gibs, more mass immigration and more faggotry.

Even more so since this whole talking point was exposed as part of a 'democratic outreach' campaign run by redditors on r/socialism with the express goal to get disillusioned republican voters to stop voting (so that the democratic alternative wins instead) as far back as 2016. That's why you NEVER EVER see this talking point being used in left-wing circles. In anything from politics subreddits to left-wing political discords, to leftypol, you NEVER EVER see anyone pushing the whole "Uniparty politicians on both sides answer to the same masters, they all are servants of wall street, stop voting for Bernie/Hillary/Joe/Kamala" narrative. Because the whole point is to get right-wingers and only right-wingers to stop voting for their candidates.

If a prospective politician has any chance of cracking down on faggotry/immigration/women's rights over the guy on the other side, I don't care how many 'golds', 'bergs' or 'steins' are in his name or how many walls he's touched, he has my support regardless.

EDIT: Actually, I want to add to that.
If you, whoever you are, want to convince me to drop support for a politician citing that politicians friendship with some jewish investor or them supporting Israel or them having touched the wailing wall, you have to present an alternative to that politician that is SQUEAKY FUCKING CLEAN. No wall-touching pictures of them can be out there, no photos of them with jewish benefactors or clips of them at an AIPAC meeting, absolutely nothing. If you cannot present an alternative that is also candidating in the same election, and clean of all the things you complain about, then fuck right off.

I miss getting banned on /a/ for posting about /a/nime I liked while gooner garbage was kept up
you can try to revive /a/ on /ourchan/. bring your best quality bakes and ideas and the right will people will show up eventually.
the moderation has already stated they want it to be a free speech board, but they're going to moderate known cancers to keep it from nesting there.

well, somehow it avoided being hacked for a decade. If a .pdf was indeed responsible they can disable .pdf uploads.
Nah, it wouldn't work. 4chan doesn't do file validation like a modern website that follows best practices.

Like the way you're supposed to do it in PHP, is make an FINFO object from the file and then pass that to the finfo filetype function to get a guess based on the magic bytes of the file as to what it is (which is still bypassable, but not as easily). Then, after you do that, you pass it on to other processing.

4chan takes files and raw dogs them into command line image processing utilities like pngcrunch, gifsicle, ffmpeg, and ghostscript (what got hit here) and uses those tools as validation; more or less, they assume that if there's an error in processing with the cmd utility, then it isn't really that file type. They do a few other things with these utilities other than basic validation, but that's mostly to strip off shit like rar/jpgs, cornelia archives, etc.

With the system being ancient as fuck, all of these command line utilities are capped at a certain old version. They can't update them to the most recent versions, since the operating system itself is too old. They'd have to manually backport a lot of packages, which would be even more work than fixing their shitty php script.

All of those old versions of the applications have known vulns. Not all of them are necessiarily weaponizable to get RCE in 4chan's context,, but all of them have vulns nontheless and it's possible even more vulns could be discovered in the future that could be successfully weaponized, simply by the nature of how security research goes.

They must fix this, or else they're just going to get hit again in the near future. To do this, they need to rewrite their code to work on modern systems.

Check the "First Unread (post)" button in the top right, I only found it after a few hundred pages worth of playing catch-up...
Edit: and the bell icon, yet higher up right. That's for tracking replies to your posts.
