A 16-year-old track athlete was killed during a championship meet Wednesday morning in Texas by a member of another team, officials said.

Frisco Police confirmed the student-athlete died "despite lifesaving measures." The suspect, 17-year-old Karmelo Anthony, has been charged with first-degree murder.

A student from Frisco Memorial was the victim, according to local reports. Frisco Memorial Principal Brook Fesco wrote in an email obtained by Fox News Digital that Austin Metcalf, a junior at the school, had died Wednesday.

The incident occurred at about 10 a.m. at Kuykendall Stadium at the University Interscholasic League's District 11-5A championship meet. Anthony attends Frisco Centennial, roughly 7 miles away from Frisco Memorial.

According to the Frisco Independent School District, the meet was suspended shortly after the incident. The ISD added that the stadium "was immediately secured, and students were released and sent back to their home campus on FISD buses with expediency."

In her email, Fesco said the school "will acknowledge Austin’s death during 2nd period and will offer support throughout the day," adding counselors would be available.

"As a parent, your guidance and support will be important in helping your child process grief. Talking about this together, face-to-face, will give you a chance to discuss how your family understands and copes with loss. You may also want to discuss with your child how to be a supportive friend to classmates," Fesco wrote. "This loss might remind your student of past losses as well. The most important thing you can do is provide your child a chance to be heard and to express their feelings."

"The Frisco Police Department grieves with all those affected by this devastating loss and extends its deepest condolences to the victim’s family, students, and staff who are experiencing unimaginable pain," the department said in a statement. "The department is collaborating with the Frisco Independent School District and will continue to provide any support they need during this incredibly difficult time."

Metcalf, who also played football at the school, participated in both the boys shot put and discus events earlier in the day, with threw distances of 39 feet, 9¾ inches and 86 feet, 4 inches, respectively.

Anthony ran the boys' 100-meter dash in 12.38 seconds and was scheduled to compete in the long jump.

Eight schools competed at the meet, according to MileSplit.

Stop handing out gibs per niglet (which artificially inflates the numbers) and let Darwin take over. Nature will heal.

Edit: I should clarify - it's probably bad form to just starve them to death, so they can still get EBT so long as it's just for food, kids clothes and other basics, but no actual money. If Shan'ekwaa then wants to sell them so she can get her braids done, then it's down to Darwin.
The Urbans know how to work the system like a slot machine. You give them $200 EBT to feed their families, and they use the money to buy laundry detergent and sell that to others for cash.

Anything to avoid an honest day's work.

Files are usually multi-purpose and can be used to sharpen a variety of things, such as skate blades and other tools, as well as cleats. Sellers aren't going to narrow down their sales by saying that their sharpeners are only useful on cleats. Nice attempt to move the goalposts though.
So we’re in agreement that they aren’t a thing, got it.

Nothing came up when I googled "cleat sharpener". The only thing that came up was people asking about their existence and a post on facebook of someone who took a screenshot of an Amazon listing (which did not mention cleat sharpening, AT ALL, only knife sharpening). I DID get similar results when I googled, "pointed knife sharpener" and those look VERY capable of ending someones life theyre practically Ice picks.

Why does it matter what Austin was stabbed with? If ANYONES moving the goalposts its anyone talking about this clear sharpener bullshit like its a legitimate defense. It isnt. I had a kid stab a teacher with his pencil in the middle of class once. What do you think happened to him? Did the school/cops say "oh thats ok youre allowed to have a pencil in school!" ? No they arrested him and took him to Juvie, BECAUSE HE FUCKING STABBED SOMEBODY!!! AS DID KARMELO ANTHONY!!!!

He could have stabbed Austin with a boiled carrot for all I care! A kid is dead and you retards are arguing about the existence of cleat sharpeners for (removable) track cleats?

Sharpen your fucking cleats?

WTF? Not even GOLFERS sharpen their spikes.

You just replace them.

Yes, even in the bad old days before the internet, you just replaced them.

At that rate, anything you read from black Twitter is just a lie, even if they say the earth is round.
Back in the day, we used to sharpen our cleats with this thing, because we were bored between races and thought it gave us an advantage (I doubt it really did).

And yes, it can be used for sharpening many different things, and it's called a "field sharpener" instead of a "cleat sharpener". You'd be more successful whacking somebody in the head with it than trying to stab somebody.

Ignoring whether or not cleats get sharpened over just replaced when worn, things used to sharpen blades are rarely sharp themselves, so niggos and influencers claiming this kid used a "cleat sharpener" in self-defense and it somehow managed to puncture his victim's heart is equivalent to saying he killed him with a truing rod, which, spoiler warning, aren't sharp themselves.

It kind of defeats the purpose of a designed honing tool to have the tool itself capable of cutting.

the only form of law enforcement that was ever shown to be effective was Jim Crow and public lynchings
The '90s crime bill worked fine. What's needed is telling progressives to fuck off.
I am not sure when this photo was taken, but I can’t over his dead shark eyes. I can’t tell if he’s on heavy psychiatric meds or if he’s just a sociopath. Could be both, I guess.

He meets Shaq and can't muster a smile? A psychopath all the way. Fun fact, psychopathy is more common among blacks than whites.
You know where I can get a copy? Can only find it for like $200
I was shocked to find it at my local library.

Someone must've called him a reeaaal mean name..
Just like ‘every app is a dating app if you’re Pajeet enough’ I suppose ‘every implement is a stabbing implement if you’re nigger enough’.
Reading is not your strong suit is it.
Niggers on social media contend Anthony was stabbed with a cleat sharpener, not a knife.
Farmers contend there’s no such thing as a cleat sharpener.
You contend that there is, and after an extensive and panicky search to find the Amazon link that totally existed moments ago but now you suddenly can’t find it, you post the related picture and start talking about how similar items could be used to sharpen cleats.
The fact that the item in question is clearly incapable of stabbing someone to death rounds out the situation.
And yes, I know you admitted it’s not a stabbing implement, but you’re the one backing nigger claims of a cleat sharpener being involved.
My reading comprehension’s fine, it’s why I’m amused at your desperate attempts to tu quoque your way out of the corner you’ve painted yourself into.

Ok, posit if you will that a "cleat sharpener" looks like a knife that one would use to peel a potato or whittle a stick.

Versus a rasping tool like one might use to sharpen a blade or file one's nails.

The rasping tools themselves are fairly blunt so you don't accidentally stab yourself.

This has to be the worst derail for such a useless and clearly invented detail. We can't let ourselves be undone by such an idiotic topic. They'd be outwitting us. Not like this. Let's do it for Austin.

Just let this dude feel great that at his track meet, he was totally sharpening his cleats by slicing them with that stupid straight razor contraption or something. I think I remember that model, actually. CleatSharpener3000. It recently sold out on Amazon so no pictures. He had the sharpest cleats in his entire district. They used to call him "Blade Runner" at every meet. It was something like this on some Joker shit.
