I can only imagine what she had translated in preparation for the visit, but I think she’s going to be sorely disappointed when mama kraut pulls a no1currr and focuses on her son and grand baby. He’s a sperm donor and as useful as herpes but she sure counts his income into her tacky McMansion lifestyle. She always lands on her feet so I’m not holding my breath but a “fuck this I’m out” forced sale of the house where he moves in with his new squeeze would be an explosive shakeup in the beckyverse.

There's no way Mama Klein doesn't tell him to run.

In fact, if any part of this story is true, it's probably "Daniel was trying to spare Becky from being iced out while Mama Klein rants angrily about how she can't believe he's letting this happen and isn't already moved out."

Becky triumphantly telling her the news her son kept from her will be hilarious. Because once Becky's his ex, she has absolutely zero reason to be nice to her. The mother of her grandbaby? Not like she's done any mothering.

Becky's probably making sure to be scarce so Mama Klein doesn't see her lifestyle and tell Daniel how likely it is that he can keep Hannah if he actually loves her. The big question is whether she tries to go away with the baby for that time (depriving Mama Klein of the grandbaby visit that was undoubtedly the entire reason for her to pay for international airfare) or foist Hannah off on Daniel and grandma, who have the opportunity to do the funniest thing ever and move Hannah away, forcing Becky into litigation when Jackson's salary can't even pay the mortgage?

It’s so transparent it’s evil. People were telling her to tell his mother not to come yesterday just because of the “she doesn’t know we broke up” thing, as if somehow he can only see his mom if he’s with Becky. And now she’s freaking out because she can’t control the situation so it’s trumps fault now and she really really needs to stay home! For her safety, honest! Triangulating the other housemates against him while grasping for control of his isolation is just evil.

…I’m sure this has nothing to do with Becky knowing how bad the optics will be, trying to play the poor heartbroken wife he left behind despite three other men wiping her ass and enjoying the perks of Danny’s paycheck. I think deep down in the pit of despair she calls a soul, she knows his mother will judge her harshly, will tell Daniel to run, and with the flattest head I’ve ever seen on a baby I’m betting old school Oma will have words. I wonder if new girl will get to meet her while she visits. I hope so because it’d be hilarious.

Mama Kein I think has seen Hannah before. In the weeks post birth she came over to assist.

But remember - part of the reason Daniel went through with the whole fake wedding thing was because he desperately wanted to show his dad he was settled and happy before he popped his clogs. His mom and sister oversaw a lot of the proceedings of that whole event too.

So with that in mind, I could understand why Daniel maybe doesn't want to tell his mom right away that the last thing he did to honor his dad's final wishes is pretty much kaput.

Flights from Europe to America also not cheap ($700 at best, if you go budget) - and they'll be well past the window of being able to get a decent refund. Daniel prob knows if he told mom about the breakup she'd cancel and be out a decent amount of money.

Unfortunately- Bex isn't going to be nice about it and will gleefully spit in Grandma's cheerios. Daniel probably would be better off just telling mom the truth and putting her up in a hotel for the trip. Bex is going to do her best to make it horrid for her.

Also I hate all these BlueSky morons who don't understand legal visas from illegal overstay criminals.

Becky should have written for soap operas, because she comes up with narratives that just keep topping the prior when it comes to batshittery.

"Oh, Daniel's mom should not come because of ICE, and certainly not because this can mean either Daniel kicking me and the troon crew out or selling the house out from under us! Urban, young and university educated - sure, close to 100% speak good English. But that figure drops dramatically if you take just one of these away. People over 50 are more likely to have learned French (west) and Russian (east) in school. Rural people may have never seen a non-Gastarbeiter (Italy, Balkan, Turkey) foreigner.
