Plagued Ruben Sim Derangement Syndrome - Because it's definitely a good look to attack a guy who takes down pedophiles.

Was there not just in the news a case of an actual child being kidnapped by an actual sexual predator from roblox and actually sexually assaulted by said actual sexual predator?
Not only this but Discord is currently being sued by the state of New Jersey for not doing enough to protect kids on their platform.

No surprise there.
It's baffling, but not surprising unfortunately, that grooming and sexual exploitation both of incapable adults and literal children occurs on Discord. I know you're pretty active in the Glass thread, which is a great example of how easy both mentally ill and underage girls are easily sexually exploited and manipulated.

It's insane to me that niggers who make YouTube videos or stream shit think it's ever a good idea to open Discord servers for their "communities" because 9 times out of 10 weird sexual shit and grooming and exploitation always happens. It's basically a matter of "when".
Discord is genuinely one of the worst platforms because it allows predators of all forms to have easy access to the kind of people they wish to prey upon, be it clearly severely mentally ill or underdeveloped adults or literal children.
But hey, it's not Discord's fault, even when they go out of their way to ban bots designed to find and ban people in "Roblox sex game" servers where it's a bunch of porn addict adults trying to groom kids!
Fuck, I hate Discord, and the internet so much lmfao.

Discord has banned Ruben's Ro-Cleaner bot that auto-banned members of Roblox porn servers from any child-friendly Roblox servers that chose to use the bot. Discord is explicitly, deliberately protecting child predators that use their platform to groom children.

ETA: if you want to learn more about Ruben's work on the Ro-Cleaner bot, as well as the mobs of pedophiles and porn addicts that the bot has made melt the fuck down in rage, Ruben's made some great videos about it that I'd highly recommend giving a watch:
"Protected characterisitcs" So troons pretty much.

online sexual predation is never taken as seriously as actual physical molestation or kidnapping, until it escalates to the point the child is hurt physically, and by that point the online element is mostly overlooked or ignored due to the pressing matter that a child has been physically assaulted.
I think this is a legitimate pressing gap in resources, both on the prevention side and the survivor healing side. Most discussions of sexual abuse are still stuck in the 70s and people think kids playing on the front yard is more dangerous than kids doing who knows what on the computer/iPad.

"Just log off" is a legitimate criticism in many online drama situations but for children being groomed, it's not that simple in their minds.

Edit: Also, while it's debatable whether "grooming" is the right term for these dynamics, children getting into inappropriate stuff with other children is a massive issue with its own consequences, and it is largely ignored. Sure it may not be exploitative or at risk of real-life danger in the same way but it absolutely is not healthy. There exists tons of horror content involving preteens ERPing and taking out their edgelord angst on each other. See individuals like kittydog and birdie from Animal Control... even Null

It's more difficult when you consider the fact that most of the time these victims don't even realize that they're being groomed or victimized by these adults. Predators go after this naivety for a reason.

I hate how porn-rotted the world is, can't believe that they think that they are on the right side of morality when they made this decision.
It's insane the level to which child grooming and pornography exposure have been normalized online. We're entering a society in which the adults were introduced to internet pornography as children.

Online I've encountered people many times who think kids have a right to see porn, and will fight tooth and nail to defend kids having access to pornography. It's not necessarily even pedophiles with 'Early Porn Introduction' fetishes. It's redditors who grew up consuming increasingly fetishistic porn before they turned 16, and now see it as a nostalgic part of childhood self discovery. On my YouTube feed I was taken aback to see a TV clip where protestors against child porn exposure were displayed as authoritarian freaks, and a character literally said that watching porn was part of what made him a man.

In Papa New Guinea there's a tribe, the Simbari people, and they have a ritual called Maku. In which, the boys are forced to suck the penises of adult males, and swallow their semen. It's ritual abuse, that has become normalized, and is now seen as a part of life. This is becoming our societies relationship with porn. Childhood porn exposure is becoming a normal part of life, and that is a crisis.

Is this why he hates us anime fags so much?

Overtly protecting pedos is... certainly a choice. I guess its time to find other solutions for archiving and sharing disgusting and or funny data with my friends. Time to host my own revolt server, I guess. At least it can be locally hosted.

Ruben, just release the source code as a fuck you to roblox and have a full in depth video on how to compile and add lists.

Jason Citron has stepped down of being the CEO of Discord and has switched CEOs to Humam Sakhnini. Strange after the lawsuit & banning of ERPsearcher this happens.

Hi everyone — I have some big news to share, so I’ll cut right to the chase: We have hired a new CEO to lead Discord through our next chapter of growth and someday becoming a public company. I am thrilled to share that Humam Sakhnini will take on this role, and I will continue as a member of our Board of Directors and Advisor to the CEO. Read on for the details.

Building Discord has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. From the very beginning, our mission has been about bringing people together around games. It’s a mission I’ve dedicated my career to, and seeing it come to life through all of you and the impact we’ve made together has been nothing short of extraordinary. I’ve learned more than I ever imagined I would and I’m deeply grateful for so many friendships, challenges, and achievements along the way.

As we enter our next phase, I’ve been reflecting on how I can best contribute to Discord’s long-term success. The job of a CEO is constantly evolving, and over the years I have continuously “hired myself out of a job.” Usually that means delegating work and then taking on different leadership challenges. However, as I look at what is needed of Discord’s CEO over the next few years, I realize that it’s time for me to literally “hire myself out of a job.”

One thing I know for sure: our company is bigger than any one person. Its future depends not just on me, but on a strong leadership team, a clear vision for what comes next, and all of your incredible talent, care, and hard work. Today’s Discord has all of that. It’s by far the best version of the company we’ve ever had. We have a clear strategy, new business lines to grow into, love and passion from our users, and an incredible team of people working tirelessly to deliver for them.

From this position of strength, it feels like the right time to transition from CEO to Board Member and Advisor. So I am thrilled to welcome Humam Sakhnini as the next CEO of Discord.

After spending significant time together, I have complete confidence in his ability to lead us into the future alongside Stan and the rest of our executive team. Humam brings more than 15 years of experience in the gaming industry, including at Activision Blizzard where he served as Chief Strategy Officer helping guide franchises like World of Warcraft and Call of Duty. He later took over from the founders of King to delight the players of their live service games while substantially growing the King business in the public market.

Humam and I are fundamentally aligned that creating long-term value requires long-term thinking and focusing on an amazing user experience. I am excited for his collaborative approach to fostering a creative environment for you all to continue delivering for our customers. Humam’s first day will be on Monday, April 28, and I’ll continue to be around as he onboards and in the background to support him in an advisory capacity.

While my role will evolve as a board member and advisor, my commitment and love for Discord remains the same. I’ve always said that so many of my most precious memories are around games — and there are countless ones with so many of you. It’s too much to recount. But, I want to especially thank Stan for his partnership. It’s truly been an honor to bring Discord to the world together.

Thank you all for your dedication, belief, and hard work over the years. The stories we tell, the products we create, the programs we run — all of it — is the result of all of your passion and energy. You are what makes Discord what it is today because you give a shit about our customers and your craft. I believe this evolution sets us up for even greater success in the years to come.

I’ll sign off with immense gratitude for our users and the hundreds of millions of people who choose Discord as the place to spend time and play games with their friends. It’s humbling to know how beloved our platform is and the importance of the work we do together to continue delighting our customers in new and exciting ways.

It's a strange topic to really reconcile with because on one hand, teenagers looking at dirty magazines or pin up posters has been a thing since the invention of ink and paper, but even looking back at that, the most extreme thing a kid growing up in the 70s or 80s could get was a Hustler, what weird niche fetish magazines existed were restricted almost entirely to adult stores and niche proto-goon caves. I think it's not good for kids to be able to view porn freely, but it's also a bit of a futile act trying to prevent it, I think the best thing that can be done logically is to restrict hardcore/fetish pornography to niche markets and the dark corners of the web, but that's never gonna happen because it doesn't put cash into the pockets of the porn industry

I love how this is the third post or so mentioning the Discord cub porn furfag employee as if it wasn't talked about here before. Not a knock against people who didn't read the thread, it just speaks volumes about Discord's reputation.
I think you should also know LagoVirt mentioned the same furry mod is still employed under a different name. They were the same mod who banned Quackity when he made that furry video. But I'm sure they're not a mod still maybe. Hopefully.

Edit: it's also possible that a furry decided to take that bot down because Ruben decided to go to war with the most oppressed deviant fanbase ever to have graced this land. Discord really loves employing furries who are sensitive.

Oh man what a coincidence, what a totally unrelated and unrelatable event that has no links to any other recent events or qualities of the person involved, which are also unlinked to each other. God I sure wish I was capable of even the most basic reasoning to put together why this happened, but sadly I'm just a dumb goy- I MEAN I'm not an expert so I guess I'll just let someone else do my thinking for me.

EDIT: heh, damn.

Funny how kids where probably safer browsing the web when it wasn't ruined by corporations and awful social media platforms.
On this, absolutely. Back in the earlier years of the internet before maybe like 2012 at the latest, the internet was a lot of smaller communities where most people to some degree at least "knew" each other, the jannies cared about the forum, and nobody let you know they were a kid. With everyone online being in only 3 massive hubs or sites now, Its super easy for either a pedo or a valid xister to find victims, especially with how often they openly announce that they are a "minor" on these apps now. Don't wanna sound like a boomer but it used to be that you'd lie about being an adult and didn't want anyone knowing you were a kid/squeaker. The modern internet is ideal for predatory degenerates, the sites are too big to be moderated, and the kids we have now weren't 10-15 when they first went online, they've been here their whole life. Id imagine that's why we have so many kids who are so mentally ill and fucked up now.
