As of right now, it's legitimately impossible for all of my friend group to get on at one time, at least those of us still playing. So, I had to go get the Winter sets via ARENA
Absolutely aids experience, that last part is maddening, but I got it after an hour or two of throwing myself at it over and over. MP9 my beloved.

I'll vouch for SPT any day of the week despite the team behind it being a bit reddit tier jannies, it beats actual live PvE by a landslide.
I've gotten a significant hardware upgrade around the holidays so I can actually run this fucking game well now.
Official PvE AI is either as dumb as a bag of rocks or you get head-eyes'd near instantaneously with no real in between. It doesn't play like PvP at all, only in the sense that the AI kinda just carries over. AI pmc's are much the same in the sense that they're just lazily copied raider AI. If you get shot at you dive for cover, count to 20 and repeek, or peek from another angle. If you don't you're likely just dead instantly. It's lazy and forces you into a very specific playstyle that isn't conducive to fun thrilling fights.
SPT AI is actually great.
It bugs out on occasion (PMCs & scavs sometimes get stuck on terrain or get into a running animation loop over the same 3-6 feet area, even had birdeye do it today).
Other than that the AI feels way more like a proper fair-ish challenge. Kind of like playing against a mix of people. AI can have different personality types and seemingly PMC AI can even be formed into squads (had this happen only a few times, seemingly fairly rare).
Not to mention the other bonuses of being able to mod the game further or mess around with the configs if you're struggling a bit too much with a certain quest that didn't translate over well to PvE for example.
Or beef up boss spawn rates.
Try it if you can, facing Reshala & co while the goons are also on your ass in scav base on customs is total chaotic fun, highly recommend.

This is not a thing I've ever experienced, usually you only hear of it on Reddit from retards with bad PC's and less than 100 hours who think they know everything because they watched a single Pestily video. It would not surprise me if there really is something fucked up that could allow someone to somehow fucking fry your CPU via VOIP like this guy claims, but it's more than likely he's got a shit PC and this guy just ran at him and played random shit over a soundboard to fuck with him.
The game has a big issue if you're on a shit computer with lagging when players come into your view or when you ADS at them, turning off Nvidia Boost fixed this for me though. I've never ever heard of a cheat like this and you'd think it'd be something someone like 10IQ would've talked about since that dude does nothing but go on and on about cheaters and his gay lover Suddenly Toast.

Okay, turns out, the CPU Frying thing is real LOL.
Very Bad Scav made a video on it - and I saw a xitter post from Trey24k showcasing a streamsniping cheater doing it to. Something is fucked with VOIP past the voices of the void where you can hear people hundreds of meters away for a split second.

someone, i think named Jonk, posted some screenshots of cheaters discussing it, it is not VOIP that causes this, it seems to be some kind of exploit with cheats allowing the cheater to loot a living player, the audio is a bi-product of this, but it causes the cheater to "search" you like thousands of times in seconds causing a weird FPS drop.

Using the friendly ai mod to make a 5 man group, vs all bosses on reserve with hard AI with big brain/sain and the other ai improvements that make them act damn near human. Even had a couple bunny hop away to cover while sniping.

Honestly even without additional mods apart from one that makes config editing easier the AI is already great. They'll zig-zag if you're trying to snipe them from the getgo, no tweaks needed.
You can tweak the amount of friendly same-faction PMC AI and they'll actually do a wiggle and everything. Haven't encountered it before today but I was genuinely mindblown when after an AI did that (I still killed him) and then with the immersive in-game messages post raid I got one along the lines of "does a wiggle mean nothing anymore these days" and only then did I put two and two together and I was absolutely amazed.
Another fun thing to do is tweak your health values, replace all scavs with either PMCs or rogues and go on high amount of AI/horde mode and just see how long you can last as a pseudo-scav boss yourself.

Alright, so this is def an NA region thing. I myself have run into this now too, but only once and only on NA West servers. Guy wasted his time to crash and kill three people, one of whom is a freshie who hasn't played in 4 years lol. Makes for an amazing clip to sell cheats I imagine.
The cheat seems to spam certain animations, such as proning and standing or equipping and unequipping tripwire kits. this causes a memory leak somehow & also, the sound is a by-product of this.
Cheating is gay. And you're paying to admit you're worse than a fresh timmy. GGWP you retarded nigger.
Also, that snake movement bug was comically retarded
This is annoyingly a great wipe held back by bizarre technical issues especially in audio. Fucking amazing.

I had any enthusiasm I had for the wipe killed when I had to cart an associate through his Ground Zero quests only later to find out he was on Tussi the whole time

That CPU fryer cheat has to be one of the most amusing cheats I have ever witnessed in this hobby. No game has a bizarre cheat like it so while many people are in disgust, mine is more in pure fascination.

Like, the weird technical bugs are odd enough, but fucking how dude? Oh, and we have niggas just enabling noclip and flying around like they just accessed the console in a COD game or something lmfao.
Flyhacking isn't new, but clipping through floors/walls is not something I had seen before.
This, piled on top of audio straight up turning off until you restart the game sometimes, gunshots turning into fucking dog barks, the weird snake movement bug that existed since the wipe started that only got patched cuz every streamer and their gay lover had a clip of some guy doing it and going "haha this is broken", the insanely awful performance, this wipe is just amazing.

As someone who has been playing since 2017, I think this may actually be the worst wipe I've ever experienced in tarkov. Can't progress hideout because you can't use flea or traders, cheating is the worst its ever been, when you go to play PvE so you can actually have a chance of progressing partizan permanently hunts you down because you're the only real 'player' on the map, there's no good loot basically anywhere, there's horrible AI spam from the 'heat map' mechanic, and the scavs are cracked out to shit, I've had raids where I don't see anyone, get in a fight with one scav, and then 40 scav kills later I die because I run out of ammo getting swarmed by spawns. They could fix every bug in the game but the core gameplay loop sucks now.

It's a strong IF considering that any other PMCs you will deal with in the labyrinth are invariably turbo-sweats and blatant cheaters.

l8 to the party, but 1.0 is apparently coming out this year, in the TarkovTV last week, Nik said he'd share the exact release date at "the exact end of Quarter 2 2025." which is what his "Q2 2025!" tweet was supposed to mean.

I'm gunna make a guess that this wipe is going to end at the end of August, and we're either getting 1.0 at that point, or we're having a super short wipe before 1.0 in December. I don't believe that we'll jump straight into 1.0 after this wipe. Honestly with all the community feedback they're actually paying attention to recently I'm feeling optimistic that the game might actually be massively improved over the next 12 months. All the QoL changes are something the game has desperately needed. Despite what people say the game is still getting new blood, too. I unintentionally bullied a duo with less than 50 hours between them last night.
I'll predict right now though that the steam reviews will be full of trash cans pissing about sweats and blaming every other death on a cheater.
