I posted earlier that I'd probably go back to lurking 4chan over 8chan, but things are still looking pretty bad. I think the long-term melty the jannies are having is really doing a number on the site. They're banning so many for even more bullshit reasons than usual and taking down a large number of on-topic threads for mystery reason. The site seems slower than it was before the shutdown and it feels like an even bigger percentage of replies are low-effort canned responses, though maybe that second one isn't a change and is just me having gotten too detoxed from the site.

There also seems to still be some minor technical issues going on since threads often have more posts in them than is shown on the catalog, and clicking Update on a deleted thread will get you a "Connection Error" message instead of the usual "this thread no longer exists" message.
