As for point 2) nope, people with gender dysphoria are going to benefit from more robust treatment with options other than an affirmation only model. That it also negatively impacts perverts and positively impacts vulnerable children just makes it even more admirable.

I was just a little too old for these books when they came out, and never really read them because I didn’t want junior high stink on me. Then the movies came out, and it was like watching fucking pod people.

That said, Rowling shutting down trannies on social media is good wholesome fun.

I had the opportunity to read the books as a kid, but was interested in different books at the time. I tried reading the first one, but the writing didn't stick with me - I've read some A. Dumas at that point, and switched back to his book after trying Harry Potter.

And once again good on Rowling for making trannies mad.

This is all anecdotal, but I see teens and early-twenties troons and allies in the Potter fandom all the time. They might tag their stuff with "fuck JKR" or claim they don't give her money (by pirating or buying second-hand), but they're still unwilling to let go of it and they still keep it culturally relevant by engaging with it. They have a thousand and one excuses as to why what they're doing isn't "damaging" or it's even activism (by making Sirius Black a pooner), but they're definitely not letting go of it. A lot of these people are absolutely going to watch the new show and talk about it online, even if they claim to pirate it. There's already drama about that.

In the NeoGAF and Resetera thread, there was a fun bit of drama on the latter when Hogwarts Legacy came out. Resetera is an extremely progressive forum, and there's nothing they find more delicious than transsexual penis. To the point where they banned discussion of the game, even going so far as to leave the name blank when they were doing monthly sales charts.

They still played it.

Looks like the Resetera admin is behaving a little counter-revolutionary.
