Thanks for the info, that's news to me. Doesn't explain why they didn't replace them or at least get a cheap band to signify they're married, but at least it explains where the rings went. I'd think someone with 18k to waste on an ugly back tattoo would have enough money to get SOME kind of ring to honor the love and bond they share with their spouse, but what do I know?

Like someone else said, it's the least of their worries now. Edit: in regards to the rings, I don’t think they’ll replace them now just because it’s been brought up because Anisa doesn’t care about showing loyalty or the bond she and her husband are supposed to share. If she tries to claim it’s because they don’t fall into traditional marriage norms, they don’t like the way the feel, etc that’s just stupid. Even if the "promoter" in the meaning of the statutes is not the Jomhas, there is most likely a written contract between the Jomhas and said promoter. I assume any professional promoter in FL promoting the event of a third party would address that commercial risk and shift it to the other party in the contract. Most likely, they would have a general indemnification clause whereby the promoter would be indemnified by the other party if the event is cancelled, with or without fault. Ideally, they would have a specific indemnification clause expressly providing that the other party indemnifies the promoter in full in the event the promoter is liable by law to refund any amount to the end customers.

This is such an obvious risk to bear as a promoter in FL that I do not foresee how it would not be routinely addressed in their contracts. So I was thonking:

• Maybe, such a contract exists between the Johmas and the promoter.
• Maybe, living in Seattle, the Johmas did not even consult with a competent Floridian commercial lawyer knowledgeable both in FL law and in boxing events.
• Maybe, the Johmas are so full of themselves that they did not even consult with a lawyer.
• Maybe, the Johmas are so retarded that they are personally party to this contract with the promoter and did not act through a legal entity limiting their liabilities.
• Maybe, all of the above is true and, after having originally planned to simply cancel the event because they thought the promoter was going to eat the refund, they finally read the contract or consulted with a lawyer and realized that they are permafucked.
• Maybe, they are now holding off on their announcement because they are consulting a lawyer or negotiating with the promoter.

What do I even know, I am neither a boxing event promoter nor an FL lawyer, but a mere raging incel in a web forum that facilitates the discussion and harassment of online figures and communities.

What would be really funny would be if they would have already gone through litigation in the past around another failed event.
